Luxury MODERN Villa Wow Terraces & Ocean views

“The best views you might ever find” My wife and I traveled to Nicaragua for our honeymoon and spent seven days in San Juan Del Sur at Villa V. We are in our later 20s and did not have a vehicle during our trip. In short, we loved our time in Sjds and were always eager to come back to Villa V after a day of activities. I would certainly recommend it to those staying in the area. Pros: -The views are absolutely stunning. None of the pictures can really do it justice. When you walk get out onto the terrace, there is a major "wow" factor. -You can tell that the house itself was well thought out. When you open the glass doors, you have the ultimate in indoor/outdoor living. The kitchen has every utensil that you could dream of using. The internet and cable worked great (did not get either in main bedroom, but no big deal). -Nelson, the property caretaker was a great 'host'. He does not speak English but we never had an issue with that and enjoyed practicing our Spanish with him. -Zero mosquitoes! Cons: -There are keypads on the doors, but we only got keys. There's a home alarm system, but it's not used (never felt unsafe). There's a dryer but we were asked not to use. There's a waterfall in pool, but the welcome instructions made it seem like its unnecessary/hassle to turn on. All minor things, but we just didn't get the full "Welcome" feeling. -Irrelevant if you're renting a car, but walking was important to us and we were told 10-15 minutes max to get to town. We're relatively fast walkers, and it took us ~30 minutes to the market each day (which is consistent with Google maps). At night its taxi only, but with some Spanish/negotiation $8-10 seems to be the price. I know they are working on it, but would have loved if the owner knew of a reliable taxi or two in town that we could have used. Wish I could give 4.5 stars. Regardless, we would love to stay here again, likely with a another couple or two next time. Happy to answer any questions about my experience at Villa V or Sjds in general.

“The best vacation ever!!” This vacation was like discovering a hidden paradise ! La Joya was fantastic and gogeous. Abeautiful home overlooking the Pacific ocean high on the cliffs. The people were wonderfully friendly , beaches beautiful. Great surfing and great food.

“Beautiful, quiet and peaceful Villa” The photos cannot capture what a lovely home this is. Beautifully designed, amazing view and tremendously peaceful. With no windows the air is perfect and breezes relaxing. My girlfriend and I spent a week here and it was perfect for us, and would be ideal for a larger group as well. Well worth the bumpy dirt road ride from town. We cooked breakfast and dinner here daily (including fish we caught) as both of us have worked in restaurants for years (me on the wine side) and I have a food blog. Plenty of utensils, pots, pans etc. We do recommend making a trip to the street markets in Rivas for your produce...better quality and better variety (and less expensive). We surfed (and stood among huge Manta rays) at Playa Maderas, lazed on the beach at Playa Majaguel, helped baby turtles to the sea at La Flor, went night fishing catching 40 red snapper. Wonderful time. Thank you
