“No hesitations about recommending archers..” ... except it might get too busy to re-book it again! Having stayed in a different cottage for a number of happy visits to Keswick, my first stay in archers was a reluctant change - but i was more than satisfied, and look forward to returning if i ever have the opportunity to work in the Lakes again. Comfortable, cosy, well-equipped. Great location for being central to shops, but easy access for walks, cycling etc...

“Quiet retreat near Keswick” The property was exactly as described...the central heating was needed the weekend we were there and made the Hayloft very snug. Owners very helpful with getting wi-fi to work on our laptop...(don't expect 20mbs but fine for light surfing). Only concern was slight lack of cooking bits & pieces and cutlery could do with a really good clean. Idylic setting and good location. Would

“Excellent building, appartment and grounds, unsure about the loc” The building and the grounds are excellently maintained, clean and well presented; the room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer, dishwasher, cooking facilities and excellent shower and bathrooms. Although the building is divided into a number of appartments we still had a great level of privacy and our stay was not affected by any other residents. The only negative for our party was the location. It was not as close the the town centre of Keswick as we thought. It is around a 25 minute walk to the main shops and pubs and we were making this trip (there and back twise per day), driving was out of the question as we were spening our nights in the pubs. In addition to this the long, secluded drive approach to the accomodation is badly lit (i.e. no street lighting at all) which meant without a torch it was pitch black. This coupled with the rough, non existent tarmac / paving on the drive could become hazzardous, especially in icy weather as it was at the time. The only other suggestion I would make would be to improve the directions provided when booking, it took us at least half an hour driving around the area, with which we are all unfamiliar, until we found our way. Overall though I would recommend the cottage to friends and family, depending on their intentions whilst in the area. If this was to spend the day out, but the evenings and nights in the cottage relaxing I would strongly advise this location.

“good location” The flat was comfortable and clean, the rooms were a bit on the small side but we knew this as we have stayed in Hewetson Court before fine for two people, but the best bit is the location it could not be better. Would def stay again

“Excellent location, good accomodation” Excellent service and information from Cottage Holiday Group in relation to booking and access to property. Cottage is located in a beautiful setting although access is via a very bumpy lane! Cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. Only complaint is that although interior of cottage was obviously cleaned prior to arrival, there needed to be some exterior cleaning - cobwebs above front door do not create the best first impression! However, we have no hestitation in recommending to future guests.

“Clean, light and lovely!” Have been coming to Keswick for years but this flat rates as one of the very best. It was so light and airy with beautiful views to the hills/mountains. Everything was spotless and the flat was so well equipped. We liked it so much that we decided to stay an extra few days! With it being so early in February no-one had booked the following week and we were able,with the help of the lovely lady in the Keswick office,to do just that.

“This cottage is compact, comfortable and well equipped, a little” We have booked with Lakes Cottage Holidays before and again everything was simple & very straightforward. The cottage was warm, compact and had everything we needed for our weekend away with the dog. It has been renovated to a high standard, comfortable and tasteful furnishings, heating was easy to control, as was the shower. It was located close to the town centre, just a short walk away, we love Keswick and feel its our second home! We hope to return to this lovely cottage again soon.

“Cosy cottage” Had a great short break in November in Banks Place. Cottage is cosy with fab woodburner, amazing jacuzzi bath and central to everything you need in Keswick. The cottage is very near for amazing mountain walks - I enjoyed a great walk up Skiddaw with blue skies and a light covering of snow which I will remember for a long time. I definitely plan to return to this cottage in the future.

“Brilliant cottage in great location” This was a very well equipped cottage, which fulfilled all our expectations from the website descriptions. The location was excellent, a short walk into Keswick with parking for our small car. The cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable. We had a great holiday and would definitely recommend this cottage. It had lovely views across the river and to the hills in the distance.

“Excellent accomadation” The apartment was lovely and clean and had everything we needed, and was very comfortable indeed, it is in a small shopping centre and by a pub but there was no noise to disturb us, all the shops and restaurants at hand no need to use the car, having the car park pass was great there was no need to worry about paying parking fees and clock watching in case your ticket ran out. We would recommend that when you arrive for your stay, and have collected the keys, park in the short stay car park Bell Close Brewery Lane as it is defiantly a lot easier and a lot shorter to carry your luggage to the accommodation, then after park in the long stay using the car park pass, it took us quite a time to work this out, as we did not know the area

“Cottage comfort” Charming little cottage in Portinscale, within easy walking distance to Keswick. On three levels, kitchen diner ground floor with a stone tiled floor ideal when you take a dog with you. All necessary equipment in the kitchen, pots pans microwave, full oven etc. Lovely and warm. First floor lounge with lovely view over the lake and boats. Second floor bedroom with twin beds, and a lovely bathroom. Spotlessly clean throughout. Lovely cottagey feel to it. Lovely walks nearby, so hardly used the car. Local pub 200 yards away, or the bigger Derwent Hotel just round the corner if you fancied having a meal out. We did our own cooking so cant comment. The village was very quiet in January, but would recommend this little to cottage to any couples who wanted a quiet week/weekend away. We were lucky with the weather, considering it was January, so had a great time.

“Perfect Lakeland Base, Keswick UK” The place was perfectly located in a quite road within walking distance to Keswick and the Lake. Everything we needed was provided, and a nice surprise was the free WiFi. It was a perfect base for exploring the local fells, and the views from the kitchen and main bedroom were to die for. Adequate heating ensured a warm evening. Highly Recommended!

“Lovely Spacious apartment In Centre Of Keswick” Located above a restaurant in town centre (next to the George Hotel) with a reserved parking space in the courtyard behind the property. The apartment is accessed via a rear metal staircase or through a door on the main road. Neither entrance is particularly attractive but once inside they are soon forgotten as the apartment is great. Very modern, spacious interior but felt warm and comfortable. Nice comfy double bed. A nice touch was all the books, maps, dvd's and PS2 games which were handy when the weather was poor. We experienced no noise at all as the restaurant and takeaway had closed down.

“the best holiday experience...ever, scenery...breathtaking.” tutheren lodge was excellent, everything you could need provided and more. the location was perfect only a ten minute walk from town. i came on holiday for peace and quiet after the passing of my son and i certainly got it! the surroundings were breathtaking. there was nothing i disliked about my holiday and i will definately be back!
