“So many ways to relax!” My husband, our 3 month old daughter, and 1 friend stayed at Giuseppe's villa for 10 days in June and had a wonderful time - quiet and relaxing, all while enjoying some beautiful views and food. Each item in the house has (I felt, anyway) been chosen with love and care, and it has a great warm feeling about the place. Two things I think are particularly noteworthy - the number of choices of places to relax, and the small but very well equipped kitchen. I think we must share the same values with Giuseppe!? Every time I picked up my book or poured ourselves a glass of wine, I had to spend a delicious 5 minutes thinking, "hmm, where am I going to sit today?" The hillside location commands a spectacular view of the coast, dotted with olive groves and vineyards in the foreground. Outdoors, there is the main terrace with loungers and a parasol, a beautiful wooden dining table with benches, some chairs by the railings, a terrace by the main entrance (also with a dining table), and another terrace (again decked with loungers) just to be safe. And oh yes, and if that's not enough there is a hammock where you can catch the breeze and enjoy the sun and seaview. Just in case it rains (!) there is of course a dining room and two living room areas where you can pick from the many couches. All the beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers cocoon it nicely and we were surprised that the neighbours are actually not that far away. The indoors kitchen was the most well equipped, efficient kitchen I have ever seen. In a small space there are all the utensils you can think of. The local supermarket (5 mins drive) has a good selection of cheeses, meats, veggies, and wines. In addition to going out to restaurants in Scopello, we had a great time trying all the cold meats, cheeses, barbecue skewers, pates etc. * The only thing the local store did not have were diapers the right size for our daughter, we had to drive 15 minutes into Castellamarre for that. As eating and reading (ideally with small naps in between, punctuated by small trips to the beach) are my two favourite pastimes, this villa was the perfect place for our holiday. I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone (including families with young babies) who is looking for a place to relax and forget the busy stressful city life.
