“Want to keep it a secret!” I love giving reviews to good things. The thing about this rental is it is so wonderful I want to keep it a secret so I have no problem booking it on future trips! Yes, this place is that good! (And I travel here on a regular basis to visit family.) I knew when I saw this place online that it was charming and was not disappointed on any level. The space is just wonderful! My kids (9 and 12) totally felt like staying here was an adventure. They wanted to look for secret tunnels. No sure you could find a better location to stay, amazing to be able to walk out onto the main street of Nevada City. At some point, I want a summer stay at the Two Room Inn so I can enjoy a summer night (with wine) on the front porch. If I get really lucky, a winter stay with snow!

“Yosemite wonder! Excellent house!” We loved this house! The location was perfect and the neighborhood quiet! We traveled with our teenagers. 14 and 17. The short drive to the hikes was the key! Stay at the house, use the kitchen for dinner and you will have no regrets if you are looking for a vacation that has beautiful sites and a relaxing, comfortable, clean house! The owner emailed usfantastic advice - nice man!

“Good Stuff!” This place was perfect for us. ~2 adults and 3 kids in the master (2 kids in the closet Queen bed, and the baby in a pack n play & still tons of room) ~2 adults in the 2nd bedroom down stairs with their 2 kids in the closet Queen bed. ~3rd adult in the Queen in the loft ~4th adult babysitter in the bed in the loft next to the bunk beds, We had tons of room. It was nice. Enjoyed eating at the long table, and partying at the large island. Did a night at the pool with the kids and relaxed at the Hot Tub. It was nice as they had all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed, and even had spices, salt and pepper, so we didn't have to buy it to use it once. My only suggestion would be to possibly place a humidifier in each room, so we would have the option of running some moisture in the room. The air is so dry, and after being wind chapped on the mountain, we ran the heater a lot, so it made it even worse. We walked to the Village and had dinner and drinks multiple time a day. Its literly that close. Maybe 80 steps... Amazing. We actually ended up calling them and staying a 3rd night, and they give a discount if you extend your stay. I would deff stay there again, and next trip up there, we will hopefully be able to stay there again!!!

“OMG!!!! This was the Best House - We could not ask for better” Not enough words to say how great and the owners were (WOW) - pick them - Best of the Best First of all they were so nice to make sure we knew how to get to them giving us in's and outs to get to them. 2nd they were there to show us around to make sure we knew everything. 3rd they have everything you could think of to make it a great trip 4th this house is so big open with a great view of the water fall that my family loved 5th it was the best bed I have slept in 6th the owner deigned it and built it himself and its like a dream house They even loaned us fishing poles for my daughter and I could use if we had time. “Top of the World” We only stayed here 2 nights, but would have loved a longer visit. The house is in good shape and the views are spectacular, as advertised. Kitchen was fine, and master suite was very comfortable, with extra space for our 10-mo old to sleep in the (provided!) Pack-n-play. The baby items provided were a huge help, as we traveled by air. Suzannah was extremely attentive and responsive to my questions and made sure we had a comfortable stay. Location is great, but just expect a bit of a windy drive up and down to/from Incline Village. The only reason I gave service 4 stars is because of a few very minor points of confusion related to garage parking (not available), changes to wifi, and having to take out the trash, but Suzannah kindly explained these things to me, or did her best to clarify any confusion. Older folks might like having a bedroom on the main floor, and there are no steps unless you use the upstairs master suite or sauna/workout room. I'd highly recommend this place to a friend. Would love to come back for a snowy or summertime visit.

“Loved everything about D&E; Digs!” I highly recommend this charming cottage and lovely setting. Donna and Eric are great and a wealth of information. They are accessible if you need them, otherwise they are out of sight. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. Loved the basket of fruit and muffins. A very thoughtful and appreciated touch. Take a good book or a bottle of wine up to the "hideaway" and enjoy the peace and quiet with the subtle sweet scent of pine needles in the air. Great location too in that it's a short drive to Mariposa or Oakhurst for a night out to good restaurants. We had a great stay in a great place and great hosts in Donna and Eric. We will no doubt return!

“Home from home” At the end of our touring holiday in California, when deciding which had been our favourite location and accomodation, this one came out tops with everyone (mum, dad, and 2 teenagers). Our main reason for going to the area was to visit Yosemite National Park, where we spent two long days. It seemed a shame that we didn't have more time to spend in this beautiful home in its peaceful location. Both of the park entrances were almost an hour away, but through beautiful countryside, so for us it was part of trip. However if someone was wanting to make an early start on some of the trails, they might wish they had chosen a closer location. Mariposa itself was a lovely town, full of character, but we made the mistake of leaving exploring it to the morning we left - and discovered that nothing opened till after 10am - and we couldn't hang around that long. The house was great, and we were completely undisturbed. Having two bathrooms helped speed up our departure each morning. And the two teenagers were glad to have separate beds instead of having to share a double. The big washer and dryer were great (this was the half way point on our tour - we were running low on clean clothes!). The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - I wished I could take it home! Eating outside every morning and evening, in complete privacy (except for the morning visit by the wild turkeys)and quiet, was wonderful. There was absolutely everything we needed, (and a few things we didn't need - like a karaoke machine!) a real home from home.
