TURKS AND CAICOS, Turtle Cove - Providenciales

Providenciales apartment

“Absolutely the best of everything” My husband and I are finishing our last night at the condo and it is bittersweet. One of my favorite pastimes has been to watch the tour boats come into the marina before sunset, from our porch, the music playing after a hard day's work. In the morning they head out so silently for a day on the seas. We took the island vibes tours and it was great fun with snorkeling, isolated beach, and rum runners. The beauty of this spot is that it is ten minutes from Grace Bay where all of the big resorts are located but it is nice to come home to the peace and tranquility of the marina. There are several restaurants within walking distance fior dinner so no worries about a cocktail and then driving. The grounds of the condo are very well kept and the pool is clear and refreshing. Ken, the security guard in the evening, has been at the resort for many years and is a deeply religious man who takes his job very seriously....so sleep tight you are in good hands. Okay, backed to the condo: all of the amenities you could want, washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, etc...you name it.

“Adventure Island, A true paradise lost” Impossible I said, to find a relatively island of this size with so few people in this day and age but here we were, on the island of Middle Caicos, the largest of the Turks and Caicos island but with only 300 residents. The pictures did not lie, the place was immaculate and luxurious and the white sand beach stretched for miles. We found even better beachs a few miles away at Cow Hill Bay where we had full access to calm waters everyday so as to try our skill at Kayaking and Paddleboarding. Fresh Fish and Lobster were readily available and while not the best in the world, I managed to get my share with the able assistance of our local guide, Ice Robinson of Conch Bar. This place is lost in time and should be put on an endangered list so as to protect it from development. I can't begin to fathom the difficulty in building this retreat in the middle of nowhere, but here it was... Central air, 10' ceilings, spacious accommodations awesomely decorated and the kitchen was huge and well equipped. The downside if you will was a 6-7 mile drive to the 2 local restaurants in Conch Bar or over to North Caicos where there were plenty to chose from. We took a day to explore North Caicos which was a nice ride across the causeway which had been recently restored but quickly returned to our tranquility and semi-private beaches. We saw only 30 people in a week and I think most were day trippers coming from Providenciales on the ferry. A day of fishing with Dolphus arthur and his sidekick Tboy is a must. The people are extremely friendly and the property manager, Mr Forbes were fabulous. We will be back but for a longer period of time because there is just too much to explore and enjoy. 1st timers need to hire a guide because the best treasures such as Cow Hill Bay, Half a Creek and the channel between Joe Grants Cay are not readily known or mapped out properly. As I said, Adventure Island, thankfully still lost in time.

“Beautiful place, perfect weather” The condo was exactly as decribed only the view was better! Candi the owner was great to work with, offering dining and activity suggestions and even following up while we were there to make sure everything was alright. The resort offered many activities and the staff was very accomodating. The only negative was that they were often out of towels for the beach. The weather was wonderful and the water beautiful. Had a most enjoyable relaxing vacation.

BEST OF ROYAL WEST .... OCEAN FRONT Premium Suite on Grace Bay

Grace Bay hotel apartment

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Paradise Found” Just returned from 6 nights at the Calabash Suite and would like to add my enthusiastic and positive comments to those of previous renters. The suite is wonderful, as nice and reasonably priced an accommodation as I think you could find on Provo. The furnishings are comfortable and tasteful, the kitchen well-equipped, the sheets and towels all of high quality and in great condition. The fact that the cleaning crew came in and performed a mid-stay cleaning helped to maintain its neat and clean condition so it always seemed fresh. The media center set-up includes a large flat screen to use in the event you wish to watch TV or a video. There's even an extra phone for free calls to the states. Andrew has gone to great lengths to make his guests feel comfortable and his gestures of providing detailed written information/instructions as well as a card and other amenities are welcome touches. We loved the location, virtually across the street from Coco Bistro and a short drive from other restaurants, the Bakery, food store and other shopping. As the resort is located near the eastern end of the beach, there isn't ever a lot of beach traffic so you never feel as though you're competing for space with others or part of a bustling resort. The resort's pool, bar and restaurant, beach facilities, towels and chairs are all available for use so you get to enjoy those resort amenities as well. As others have pointed out, the best feature of the Suite might be the veranda, which directly overlooks the beach and affords spectacular sunset photo ops. I must have taken the same photos every day our entire stay - they were just too beautiful to pass up. Andrew was a pleasure to work with, well-organized in his rental process and quick to follow-up whenever I had questions. I will - or have - made arrangements to return. Thanks, Andrew, for sharing this little part of Paradise.

“Fabulous villa with everything you could need!” Where to start? Ken was great to work with - available when needed and hidden when not. He's exceedingly knowledgeable about the area and friendly. The pictures do not do the house justice. The living space - indoor and out - was comfortable, clean, and spacious. We bought plenty of food at the well stocked, modern grocery store and cooked at home most nights. The kitchen was well appointed and the open concept space was perfect. The beach was spectacular, quiet and private, especially for our group of 2 families with young children. The home had great chairs, beach toys, etc. that were also welcome. And the pool, patio, hot tub and gas grill could not have been better. The basement bedroom is average, main floor bedrooms above average, and master bedroom superb. The home exceeded my expectations in virtually every aspect. The only slight drawback was that some bugs (mosquitos?) came through some of the small window screen openings and resulted in a bunch of bug bites on the kids (who slept on the main floor).
