A beautiful detached 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa, recently renovated to a very good standard, and set in wonderfully maintained extensive private grounds and orchards, with fantastic views!
Relax by the private swimming pool surrounded by the valley below, and the surrounding mountains.
The house is well furnished, and the owners have taken great care to create a modern property with pristine bathrooms, which still retains country charm.
The house is perfectly planned to accommodate 2 families, with a little privacy, since there is a double, and a twin bedroom, with shower room on one floor, and a double, and twin room, with shower room on another also. Most rooms are double aspect, with fantastic views over the countryside.
Ground floor: Large tuscan style farmhouse kitchen, with large eating table. Very well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer. Washing machine is kept in basement/utility area.
Comfortable living room with open fire (wood provided free of charge), sofas and satellite TV.

A little about location:
Poggio is a small mountain village situated approximately 50 mins North Of Lucca, and 8km from the local market town of Castelnuovo, with its various bars & restaurants, and well-known Thursday morning market.
Poggio itself has a bar/grocer shop and a train station perfect for exploring those larger towns in air conditioned comfort.
The property is situated in its own extensive grounds/orchards. The views from the house are absolutely beautiful, with the garden enjoying uninterrupted views over the Serchio Valley, which itself is nestled between the Apennine, and Apuane mountain ranges.
A perfect place for walking, fishing or just enjoying the countryside.
Lucca is 50 mins away; Barga 40 mins; Pisa 1 hr 20 mins, Florence circa 2 hrs.
This is an extremely popular property.
TOURIST TAX - Do note that there is a local stay tax applicable at €1 per person per night, up to a maximum of 5 nights. This does not apply to children under 14.
NOTE - There is a €100 damage deposit payable on arrival.

It is good to hear that you love the peacefulness and simplicity of the stunning Garfagnana! For the benefit of future guests, there are shops and a couple of supermarkets, as well as some restaurants in Camporgiano too, which is a 5 minute drive maximum.

“Ideal place for rest, relaxation and fun.”
The house is accessed down a short track with parking outside main gate on a steep hill, so I suggest you drive in forwards and reverse out but make sure you have a good handbrake and no low profile tyres. Hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. The house is so pretty with many outdoor seating areas. The overhead grape canopy over the outside dining table is so pretty. Magnificent views from the Infinity pool. Fun to be had with the wood barbeque and the best night was making pizzas in the pizza oven. The house is cool but amply warmed by the wood burning fire in the cooler evenings. Well laid out house especially for 2 families of 4 with large double, 1 twin and a bathroom on each floor. Watch out for the occasional scorpion. Photos don't do full justice too this place.
