Description
Casa Zama is a spacious beachfront 2BR/2BA home on a secluded, pristine beach close to Cancun and only 45 minutes from the airport. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living and dining areas are very comfortable. The beachfront terrace is furnished for al fresco dining and relaxing and has a BBQ grill. We're energy independent using solar and wind. There's no A/C, but there are fans in bedrooms, dining room & living room. For your entertainment, there's a TV/ DVD player, a CD player and a connection for an Ipod, as well as many books, board games and area guide books. NOTE: We'll rent each bedroom separately on a house-sharing basis for $125 USD per night for 1-2 people and $25 per night per additional guest on the futon.
The beach is just steps away. Kayaks are available at no cost. Kitesurfing and saltwater fly fishing (bonefish, tarpon, snook, permit) are close by as are boat tours. Golf is 10 minutes away. There are 2 local restaurants. All area attractions are easily accessed by car. Cancun with its world-class restaurants and shopping is only 30 minutes away.
Our aim when building Casa Zama was to have as little impact as possible on the environment, so we designed it as an energy independent house. Our electricity is produced by solar panels and a wind generator. We also have a back-up generator which will turn on automatically if the battery charge becomes too low. Water comes from our two wells and a rainwater collection system and the refrigerator, stove and hot water heater run on LP gas. Casa Zama has wi-fi, allowing you to go online from anywhere in the house.
Our energy system will support lights, lap top computers, TV and stereo systems, cell phone chargers, fans-- in short, most everything you are used to at home. The only appliances that the system will not support are microwave ovens, irons, electric coffee makers and any other appliances with a heating element, such as curling irons & hair dryers. To conserve energy, we ask that you please turn off lights and fans that you are not using.
