Humming Bear Cabins are located on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains. Stay at 3600 feet on the top of a mountain. Our cabins are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths with all the linen needed for your stay. When you arrive relax in the Jacuzzi in front of the wood fireplace looking at the view of the mountains. You may just want to curl up on the futon in the living room with a good book or movie in front of that fireplace. Wake up to a cup of hot coffee and have it on the 800 square foot deck while watching the sun rise over the mountains. The deck is large enough for the whole group to enjoy without being crowded. Need some privacy but still want to be outside have a seat at the bistro table in the breezeway between the two cabins. Ready to eat our kitchen comes with all the utensils and dishes needed including a crock pot to have your meals ready when you come back from a day of sight seeing. Spend the evening out on the deck by the fire pit making smores, or fix your supper on the grill located off the deck and eat in the gazebo on the deck.

Humming Bear Cabins stay above the clouds. Cosby, Tennessee
Additional Location Information
The neighborhood is on the top of a mountain with a few houses and cabins in the area. Most like ours are hidden from view by the trees. The most noise you hear is from the birds, creek and an occasional dog bark. You will see and hear many birds around the cabin including hawk and eagle. Raccoon and squirrel populate the woods and you may get to see an elk and possible a bear, although there have been none lately. Hiking, fishing, swimming, shopping, amusement parks, horseback riding, historical sites, wineries, casino, zip lines and rafting are all within the area for you to enjoy. We are located on a mountain road that is part gravel and part paved secluded on top of the mountain. No traffic by the cabin as we are the last cabins at the top of the road parking for up to 4 cars. The road is curvy and may need chains in the winter. There is no public transportation in the area.

If you are considering staying at Humming Bear Cabin, you may want to reconsider. The only part of the video that is accurate is the view. It was fantastic. The deck was really nice if you didn't want to sit down. The chairs were rotten and the screen tent was falling apart and really dirty. While we were there, I was going to cook us a good breakfast so I attempted to get the skillet out of the cabinet. It was nasty with dried food in it. So I washed it. I then got a bowl out of the cabinet, the last people there had Cheerios. Gross. Finally managed to get breakfast done. That night we were going to have a fire in the fire pit. Well, after we started the fire pit we noticed that the bottom of the fire pit was held up by logs that were now on fire. Had to disassemble the fire pit to put the logs out. Let's not forget the camera that is positioned outside of the jacquizzi tub. Yep, right there so someone can see everything. Then there was the bleach jug that was sitting inside, marked on with a permanent marker "put your sharps here." Not sure what type of renters they are use to having? We made sure there was no smoking in the cabin, absolutely none. We went back in after locking up to make sure all the lights were out also. Well, the owner kept part of our deposit because he said there was an ash on the nightstand and on the carpet beside the bed. There's no way as nasty as those carpets were that he could see an ash. I was the only one who smoked and I never smoked inside the cabin and never put a single butt on the deck. He also said that the lights were left on. I had to go buy air freshners when we got there because it smelled so bad. You can not see out of the bedroom windows or the one in the living room because unlike the video, those windows all have window air conditioners in them. I would never recommend this cabin to anyone. I will download some pictures that will show accurate pictures of the cabin so no one else is deceived.
There were no complaints until a portion of the deposit was keep due to damage and not following cabin rules. our rules state no smoking in the cabin , no buts left on the deck and all lights be turned off. all of these rules were broken. i addition the camera which is placed to record the front door was damaged in order to hide the activities that damaged the fire pit which has been replaced. our cabin was just cleaned prior to their arrival and treated for winter. all the wood floors, walls and furniture was treated with a lemon cleaner to prevent drying out during the winter, this was the only odor in the cabin, and the carpet floors were swept using a professional grade carpet cleaner. our dishes are inspected and cleaned if needed after each guest, they are not sanitized but they are cleaned as well as all kitchen surfaces. our cabin has changed since the video with the addition of window air and the gazebo and another table on the deck, other then this the video is still the same. all of our deck chairs are in good condition as well as the cushions which are less then a year old the gazebo top is stained due the falling leaves it gets a through cleaning before being put away for winter. the screen gets tiny holes due to the squirrels climbing it, as we are in the smoky mountains we do get a lot of animals.
