“beautiful house, great location, secluded beach” This was the perfect spot for our get together with long time friends to celebrate my mom's birthday. The owners were extremely helpful with making arrangements and even custom built a ramp for my mom who is disabled to access the condo! The location was perfect for our 3 year old-we were literally steps away from the pool and family friendly restaurant. The beach, also steps away, was secluded, safe for swimming and great for snorkeling -turtles came up and laid eggs on the beach three nights during our stay. The condo was equipped with beach toys, boogie boards and snorkel gear. The condo was spacious, has a great kitchen and open floor plan downstairs. We loved sitting on the patio early in the morning and listening to the howler monkeys and watching the sunset while we cooked up fresh caught fish. It was so nice to feel like when we arrived we didn't have to go anywhere else- and for a couple days we didn't -we just enjoyed our little piece of paradise! We hope to return again soon!

“A spectacular vacation” Our vacation to Costa Rica was made special, indeed spectacular, thanks to the efforts of the people at Costa Rica Star Villas. Mar-a-Villa was luxurious, and provided our group of ten not only a wonderful "home away from home" but only a convenient base from which we could take advantage of all that Costa Rica has to offer - from scuba diving to deep sea fishing to zip-lining to river rafting and beyond. “My daughter and I enjoyed the guesthouse and Montezuma, especial” We only had time for two nights in Montezuma, yet this guesthouse served our needs well. Ype was a great host with lots of information on where we were traveling(we drove ourselves) and met us in Montezuma when we arrived. We had a four wheel drive which was helpful for clearance on the road to the guesthouse. The best part of the house is the wraparound glass walled veranda on the floor with the guest bedrooms. Many of the windows are open and the views and breeze were wonderful. We felt very secure as the property is gated. The trip to Montezuma takes about 10 minutes due to the road, but we got used to it quickly. The breeze was quite nice when we were there, but not sure how comfortable it would be sleeping without a/c when there is no breeze. This is a very nice place--wish we had more time to go exploring Malpais.

“All around awesome!” Villa Hermosa is a gorgeous property located about 15 minutes outside of the city center. The drive from La Fortuna takes about 15 minutes which offers a look at what this amazing place in Costa Rica has to offer. Once you arrive you are greeted by Wendy, the owner, who is extremely welcoming and accommodating. She recommended activities and locations to visit while we were in the area. This saved us so much time and allowed us to enjoy every second. Before we got there, she gave us information about driving in Costa Rica, navigating the airport, etc. (so helpful!!) I would recommend renting a car if you plan on doing a lot of activities, but if you plan on lying around the property I'm sure there are other transportation options. The property is even better than even what we expected. My wife and I were kicking ourselves for not asking some friends to join us on the trip because there are plenty of amenities on the grounds to entertain 4 people. The private pool, outdoor dining and seating areas, kitchen, hammocks and garden were amazing. We found ourselves just wanting to hang in the hammocks listening to nature with a cocktail or coffee. It was so peaceful and calming! One recommendation I would have for travelers is to go to The Springs (a nearby resort) for their natural hot springs experience. My wife and I spent our evenings there lounging around in their thermal springs and it is about a 5 minute drive from Villa Hermosa. For $50 each, we got a 2 day pass to use the tubs. We especially enjoyed visiting the animal Rescue Center that they have on grounds (complementary tour with the pass). Overall - We couldn't have enjoyed our stay at the Villa Hermosa more. Wendy has done an amazing job at making this a one of a kind stay! The breakfasts were yummy, it was so nice waking up to fresh coffee daily was amazing, and staying here made our trip complete. “Wonderful. Relaxing.” This penthouse rental was better than expected. The photos do not do the space justice. I recently (Aug '13) traveled with a group of 9 everyone felt quite comfortable. We enjoyed having goregous views of the sunrise and beach.Phil and Evelyn were very accomodating in the planning process (nine people=tons of questions) they were extremely helpful and we greatly appreciated that. The rooms were a perfect size (even with three of us sharing a room, we did not feel as if we were on top of each other). The location is perfect; close to just about any and everything you could need while staying in Jaco, transportation/bus stop, supermarket, restaurants, and drug stores. Not to mention the apt is equipped with plenty to make you feel right at home. We did take a ride to Herradura beach (the sand was a bit softer than the sand on Jaco beach) which was no more than ten minutes but enjoyed the pool nearly every morning. The staff at Daystar were very friendly and helpful as well. In inquiring about certain activities, the ladies were very candid and spared us disappointment. I highly reccommend this unit.
