“Beautiful,secluded and relaxing.” Off the beaten path this cute cabina is perfect. Beautiful beach walking, shell collecting and sunset watching. Make your own breakfast lunch or dinner in the rancho or go to one of the local restaurants. Very relaxing way to recharge your batteries. Loved it.

“We are hooked.” This was our second trip to the Casa and we must say it was better than the first. My wife and I had 10 days to explore and take in the Country like we had never before. We found the rainy season (Sept) more to our liking and would highly recommend that time of the year to truly experience the beauty of the region. Cannot say enough about Randy's staff and hospitality, something truly unique in todays environment. As I Titled this review as being hooked for it truly did hook us, to the point we have purchased a house east of Parrita and are moving up our retirement dates. “Puts the "ahh" back in "awesome"” The following description can only begin to illustrate what a lovely place this is. Look at the pictures, it is actually as good as they promise. The house is beautifully situated on a hill side overlooking sea and forests. It is convenient as well as romantic. Our youngest spent a lot of time exploring new angels from which you could see through the house and the many balconies. From the house we saw - not glimpsed, but observed up close and for sometimes extended periods of time: A sloth, monkeys, armadillos, a giant toad, hummingbirds, lots of colorful birds, lizards, land crabs and a poisonous frog. All though we kept the doors and windows open night and day when we were home, we saw no unwelcome creatures inside the house. Only the geckos who hunted along the ceilings during the night. Howler monkeys howled when the sun set and rose. The area provided excellent possibilities for rest and recreation: We tried mangrove kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, white water rafting and zip-lining. All arranged by the care taker's daughter and all within 30 minutes drive from the house, where we were picked up for the tours. We walked the 10 minutes to the closest "secret" beach or drove for five minutes to get to the more public, but far from crowded, wide beach. Every night we ate at a new restaurant of which there are plenty within walking distance. Some nights we also drove the 10 minutes to Quepos, the nearest town. Any needs we might discover during our stay was taken immediately care of by the caretaker. The only drawback of the place is that it is inaccessible to people with disabilities. The price of the breathtaking view is a stair with exactly 100 rather breathtaking steps from the road to the door. All in all a very nice place to spend your holidays.

“Wonderful!” We've been to many places, but none as peaceful at Casa de Teca. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching and listening to the waves breaking on the Pacific shore. Especially the sunsets! The house has windows all around, which makes it very open to the natural world. We left our windows open at night, and it was cool and breezy. We were there in the rainy season, and we went to sleep listening to the rain falling on the roof. but most of the time the days were sunny, and on several of them it didn't rain at all! We walked on several beaches. We went to Rio Sierpe and saw a snake, a frog, monkeys, birds, and crocodiles. We went to a park and saw bolo balls; no legend or scientist has been able to figure out how these ancient artifacts were made. You'll love this place--peaceful with access to many "tourist" areas, without being in those crowded spaces itself. There's cooking facilities, a nice bathroom, and a wonderful view! It's relaxing and a place to learn about another culture all at the same time.

“Most enjoyable tropical get away” We stayed in the Cranford's Toucan Suite. Our friends stayed in the upper level suite. The house sits on pristine jungle - the sound and sight of rare birds is a daily occurrence. We could easily walk to the river, explore the grounds which abound with exotic plants.Toucan Suite is the larger of the two units and is fully equipped with linens, kitchen utensils. We were able to borrow and exchange with our upstairs companions for the items that we needed (juicer, coffee grinder, garlic press) but it would be nice to have both kitchens equally stocked. The stove and refrigerator worked well. The issues that we had with staying at the Toucan Suite would be that the fans need to be upgraded. There are two ceiling fans that function well, although the "blue bedroom" fan makes too much noise to sleep through. There were two portable fans; one of them was okay but the other one barely moved the blades and eventually went comatose. Fortunately our friends in the upper unit had powerful ceiling fans and two super powerful portable fans and they lent us one which saved us! I strongly suggest the Cranfords upgrade the fans in the Toucan Suite. The lovely wooden doors that lead from the main floor to the porch area need to be fixed. They are off their track so we were unable to close them when the hot eastern sun shone through. The house would be much cooler if these functioned well. Blondie and Michael have a sign asking that we remove our shoes before entering and I complied with this request the first night. I found the floor really dirty and in the evening the ants, frogs and other insects would come in so we kept our shoes on. The house could use a good cleaning and some general upkeep. The upstairs suite seemed cleaner and because of the fans, cooler. The views from the upstairs suite are to die for. As the Cranfords note, the Internet seldom works consistently. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend the Toucan Suite.

“Perfect Getaway” What an amazing stay we had at Casa Bella. Arriving to the house we were greeted with warm friendly smiles from owners Meghan and her husband Josue. They made us feel so welcome and relaxed immediately. The landscape around the house was beautiful and everything seemed to fit right where it was supposed to. As we walked in the house I noticed immediately how fresh and clean it felt. The room was very comfortable, fresh, and cozy. Exactly what we were looking for. My favorite part of the house was the deck that overlooked beautiful trees. The nature watching is impeccable. I would've of sat on the deck all day everyday if my boyfriend let me. I had a fresh cocktail in my hand constantly and we saw all types of monkeys swing by: Howlers, Capuchin (my favorite) and even squirrel monkeys! Lots of colorful, stunning birds too. The walk to the beach was easy and worth it. Thank God we got the surf lessons for my boyfriend...he really needed it. The staff was so friendly and patient with him. We also did the package where Josue cooked for us. The food had a great presentation and was so flavorful. This experience in the OSa and at Casa Bella was priceless. We were so comfortable, every need taken care of with a smile, and beautiful scenery to top it off. We couldn't have been happier with Casa Bella; great price, amazing service and absolutely stunning. We look forward to our next visit at Casa Bella. Pura Vida

“Absolutely fantastic” We were a family of 8 travelling from Canada... 4 daughters aged 12 to 23, son-in-law and boyfriend, plus my wife and I. Everything about the trip was fantastic. The listing was not accurate...because the pictures don't do it justice! Unbelievable size, layout, comfort, etc. and what a view. The monkeys came by most days and the weather was perfect. Absolutely perfect. We were very comfortable with 8 people ...and there was room for more. Alex is excellent in his organizing of all our activities. We tried the horse back riding, repelling, national park tour and catamaran sail. All highly recommended. He organizes for pick up and drop off at the front door. Local restaurants were excellent too. Although cab drivers told us the walk to the beach was either "too long or too dangerous (due to traffic)", we walked it every day without problem. It was a great way to get some exercise after spending a day at the beach. Another thing alex did was organize an on-site meal provided by a local chef (Kukula?). It was one of the best meals we have ever had, and we do a lot of travelling. We didn't rent a car, as the local grocery store was within walking distance, as were the restaurants, and we didn't mind the 20 minute walk to the beach. We flew to San Jose, and alex organized the 2 1/2 trip for pick up and drop off at the end of the stay. The house was cleaned every day (we didn't realize that), and there are laundry facilities on site. We definitely over-packed. This is a flip flop and short/swim suit vacation. We didn't need to wear a sweater at any time during our stay. We will go back and I recommend this for families, couples, etc. The only caution I would have is for those with small children. The building code is no where near the restrictions that we have in Canada, and as such, the area around the main floor, infinity pool and stairs may be a safety hazard for small children. For adults, it adds to the beauty of this spectacular place! A+++

“Far beyond our expectations” My husband and I along with another couple had the pleasure and privilege of staying at Casa Yola for four days in late March 2017. Casa Yola was even lovelier than the photos and far exceeded our expectations. I took special care choosing Casa Yola because I was charged with making all arrangements for my travel group. Case Yola wowed everyone and made me look like an expert. Yolanda and John welcomed us with open arms. Yolanda took special care in showing us the property and making us feel at home. She proactively shared a multitude of area highlights. We’re grateful for her local knowledge and extraordinary hospitality. We enjoyed all of her area recommendations. Our accommodations were spotless and beautifully appointed with many amenities. The furnishings were beautiful and comfortable. We wiled away hours having morning coffee and evening cocktails on the large balcony overlooking the forest and ocean. We were delighted by the many birds in residence. The balcony and adjacent patio had comfortable chaise lounges where we could see more stars in the night sky than what we normally see is visible back home in the Minnesota night sky. She treated us as valued guests and went above and beyond any host I’ve encountered. For example she gave us chairs and blankets for our beach outing eventhough we did not expect it.
