Description
For the ultimate romantic bolthole it doesn’t get much better than this – your very own gypsy wagon with no one to disturb you and nothing else around but wildlife, nature and private eco-cabin, at the top of your own valley where the only hint of civilisation is a chapel in the far distance. Not too far beyond this seclusion are beautiful beaches within 30 minutes drive, coastal walks, woodland walks, castles and history of the local Welsh woollen industry.
The original 19th century gypsy wagon has been lovingly restored to feature all the charms of old Romany life with a few modern comforts. Sleep and relax on a king-size double bed with a thick and cosy microfibre duvet, Welsh woollen bedspread, cushions and optional hot water bottles. Glass fronted cabinets display china, trinkets, and collectibles, lacework and doilies decorate furniture whilst a brass mantelpiece heralds the range stove. Stay warm and snug with the option of dinner in the oven too. A little bed can be made up underneath the main bed for a small child.
Just alongside the caravan is the eco-cabin, featuring a cute kitchen and dining area, sofa for two and bathroom with an extra large shower cubicle. This is a truly green holiday, the cabin is completely off-grid with solar water heating (plus boiler just in case), PV panels (for electricity) and a Swedish compost loo – just like any other. Bring your laptop and watch films, pick a book from the reading shelf or play a game of cards.
There's plenty of space for lounging and here is the perfect spot for watching the sunset. Doze in the hammock on the verandah or snuggle up on the bench. The fire pit can come to life for simply toasting marshmallows or cooking a hard-earned stew on the chitty. A Swedish wood-fired hot tub with equally amazing views is available to hire on-site for your exclusive use.
All this loveliness doesn’t have to be just for two, we welcome dogs and there’s space for up to 1 small child and a baby.
To stay in touch, Wifi is available at a very close outdoors location on the farm and there is excellent mobile phone signal at the gypsy wagon.
A breakfast basket of pastries, fruit and yoghurt can be ordered and our famous pizza nights may just complete the catering needs for your stay. With 3 acres of organic horticulture, vegetables, fruit, honey and preserves are seasonally available to buy.
