Description

New cleaning procedures have been implemented in response to Covid-19 to ensure the safety of our guests, staff and other residents at the property. These include enhanced cleaning and disinfection of hard surfaces and high touch areas, Covid-19 risk assessment carried out and documentation of all cleaning procedures. This has enabled us to get Certification under the "We're Good To Go" scheme in partnership with Visit Scotland.

Located in a quiet street just off Morningside Road this is a great location for anyone looking for a city break without the bustle and noise of a city centre location. The area is serviced by buses running every 10 minutes to the City Centre and Old Town just a short ride away. The apartment is a 1930 art deco design with all amenities that a self-catering guest will need to create a home from home experience. The rest of the apartments in the block are residential with very friendly owners who are happy to stop and chat.

Getting around

Edinburgh is a compact city so most of the sights can be seen on foot once in the centre. From Morningside bus numbers 11, 15, 15A, 16 and 5 all run to Princes Street each at 10-minute intervals. Bus fares are £1.80 for a single journey or £4 for an unlimited day ticket. From Waverley Bridge outside the train station there are a number of hop on hop off bus tours that visit the sights. For tours further afield there are a number for tour companies that provide day trips and longer to areas around Scotland. We can provide assistance with arranging trips.

Interaction with guest

On booking, we send guests a confirmation email and are happy to answer any questions or provide advice for their trip. Once travel plans are finalised we ask guests to provide an approximate arrival time so that we can meet them at the apartment. Under the current circumstances, we are operating a contactless check-in process. Full details will be emailed in the days before arrival. At check-in, the guest will be met outside the apartment so that we can hand over the keys, make sure they are comfortable and answer any questions. Should guests need help or advice during their stay we encourage them to call us.

Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to review our property and responding so well to our follow up e-mails after your stay. We are glad that you found our approach professional and that you wish to come back. As I explained in my e-mails we will act on all of the factual issues you highlighted for us. Regarding the water temperature, we have checked the fitting and the temperature can be fully controlled. Perhaps we should have explained how it works and are sorry about that.

“Great location in Morningside neighborhood!”

Response from the owner Many thank for your kind review. We like to fix any problem quickly as we can, it not only helps you but us as well and prevents things getting worse. 'A stitch in time' attitude. Thank you for pointing it out actually, we would not have picked this one up unless we were staying there, and we couldn't do that in the December period. We hope you'll come back and stay again and there will be a discount for you.

Response from the owner Thank you for your review. Morningside is a lovely area with so many cafes, bars, restaurant and shops to explore. The bus service is great to, with many bus routes passing along Morningside Road to the city centre there is always one just about to arrive. Edinburgh is a small city with many green spaces creating beautiful walks. We often encourage guests to walk to the city centre through Bruntsfield, over the Meadows Park and through the Old Town. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will come again soon.

Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We really appreciate our guest's feedback. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay and that our booking and checking processes works well for our guests. I am sorry that the bus drivers were grumpy but I can assure you they are not all like this. It can be awkward sometimes that the buses only accept exact money but they have now introduced mobile ticketing for smartphones and citysmart cards which can be topped up on the bus or in the travel shop. The transport Edinburgh app is a very useful tool providing route information and accurate timings for the next bus is due. Thank you again for your review and please come again. Response from the owner Thank you for posting your review. We love to staying in this apartment ourselves and so want it to be as comfortable and as well-equipped as possible. Morningside is a great area with everything you could need within a few minutes' walk of the apartment. In our view the apartment is in an excellent location. The city centre is only 2 miles away, 10 minutes by bus or the woodland nature reserve of the Hermitage of the Braids and Blackford Hill is just 10 minutes' walk from the apartment. For those feeling more adventurous 10 minutes by bus out of the city are the Pentland Hills offering over 100km of paths. Thanks for your support and please do come again, Reta, John and Steven
