Description from owner

Description

'Druid cottage' is a 'home from home' relaxing space with a bright open plan living area consisting of a separate bathroom and a kitchen at one end with a mezzanine above.

The mezzanine has a double and single mattress on the floor, a full bed would be to near to the ceiling. There is also a comfortable pull out sofa bed in the main room.

Linens and towels are supplied.

The small kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized cooker, small fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, tea, espresso maker and hand held coffee press. The store cupboard shelf contains, cooking oil, pasta, sauce, condiments, tea and coffee.

The heating is a wood burning stove, fuel for stove is available in local shops, Cooneys in Tulla village, Smyths in Feakle village and also petrol service stations.

Electric heat is available on request for 1hr in morning and 1 hr evening or full time on request.

My home is directly beside the cottage and I respect my guests space, leaving you alone to enjoy a peaceful stay. Solo travelers find comfort knowing that they are not totally alone on this safe and quiet rural hillside and often we share a walk or a coffee but mostly it's your time to do as you choose.

Broadband internet at the cottage creates an ideal work from home space and perfect for those seeking a change of scene too.

Long stay winter season guests have enjoyed this cottage for writing, music, research, painting and photography at a reduced price.

The name 'Druid cottage' comes from the town land name Glendree meaning Glen of the druids, Glen of kings or Glen of magic. A special place!

If you intend to explore the outdoors it is best to bring clothing for the Irish weather pattern which can contain "all seasons in the one day"

Situated in the heart of Clare and central to Lough Derg, Cliffs of Moher, nearby sites, fishing lakes and all that the Munster region has to offer.

Response from the owner I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay but sorry to read that you had difficulties with the solid ladder stair, as seen in our photos. There is a second bed in the main room for people who get up in the night and I am happy to supply whatever makes my guests more comfortable(within reason) you only have to ask!
