The property borders Coconino National Forest on two sides, a horse corral and a chicken coop on the other two. The cabin is rustic and small at 755 square feet but very open and functional with incredible views of the forest and the mountains from all rooms and 3 decks. The property is a great mix of a peaceful rural area with great vistas but 10 minutes from the excitement of a vibrant mountain town and is one of the highest in the country at 7,000 feet in elevation. The summers are warm but not hot like the central Arizona desert. Be prepared for warm summer days (average high is 78 degrees) and chilly nights (average low is 42 degrees)
Exclusive use of the A-Frame cabin. Outside - 2 mountain bikes, BBQ grill, and horseshoes pitch and stairway access through the National Forest boundary. Inside - 1 full size memory foam bed in the bedroom, 2 single pull out beds in the loft, 1 full air mattress,1 single air mattress, and 1 folding cot. Sleeping bags, backpacks, lanterns, flashlight, binoculars, cooler, and fire wood. Condiments and spices are stocked. Help yourself to anything in the refrigerator and freezer.
A car is advisable. UBER available, use code uberaframeflagstaff for your first ride free ($30 credit). Shuttle service to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport /Amtrak Rail Station available. 3.5 miles from Flagstaff Bus Route 66 Mountain Line. Sky Harbor Airport Phoenix is 2 hours, 15 minutes to Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, 10 minutes to rail station.
Ample parking and hookups for a large RV or trailer.
No telephone, air conditioning, cable/satellite or internet service. The cabin does have cellular and 4G data reception, 27' LED HDTV, Blu-ray DVD player, Xbox 360, AM/FM radio, board games, books, and local travel magazines. We use a professional cleaning service to prepare the cabin prior to your arrival.
House trained dogs are welcome but please not on beds or furniture. Please pickup after your pets outside and deposit in the outside trash container. Staircase does not have a safety railing, see photos. Please make sure people, pets, and children are supervised and very careful on it. The cabin is located within a National Park so wildlife is abundant particularly Elk, Coyotes, Jack Rabbits, etc. There isn't a fenced yard so please keep track of your pets outside. The neighborhood is very quiet so please enter and exit the area respectfully and try to keep dust down while driving. Quiet time between 9pm and 7am. No smoking indoors. If smoking outdoors please discard in sealed container only. Since this cabin is completely surrounded by the national forest the following is in effect: No BBQ, fire pits, or outdoor candle use from April to September. Directions from Flagstaff:
Located in the Coconino National Forest just east of Mt. Elden.
Take I-40 East towards Albuquerque.
Exit Country Club Dr. (Exit 201 for the Grand Canyon)
Turn left onto Country Club Dr.
Turn right on 89A (north) Proceed 7.5 miles.
Turn right at Townsend Winona Rd. Proceed 2.5 miles.
Prepare to turn right after you pass Koch Field Road.
Turn right onto Pueblo Rd. (You will see a row of mailboxes-it is a gravel Forest Service road).
Follow Pueblo Rd. 1/3 mile until you come to a clearing. You will see a red reflector where the road divides and more red reflectors off to the left marking the road you should take. Please DO NOT go straight ahead. That is the neighbor's private road. Please turn LEFT proceed 50 yards and then turn right on to my A-Frame's private road. Continue ahead to cabin about 600 feet. Parking to the right of the cabin. Motion lights at the front of the cabin and rear should turn on if arriving a night also please have a flashlight when retrieving the key. The neighborhood is very quiet so please enter and exit the area respectfully and try to keep dust down while driving. There is a diagram of the property lines in the pictures section of the listing for your reference. Please do not rely on navigation apps once you turn on to Pueblo Road. Please do not drive on the neighbor's roads or in the field.
