Ancient abbey of Vallombrosa 'XI century, converted into wine resort, Badia a Coltibuono has retained its original features, the structure and the atmosphere of the centuries that have characterized the history. Cultus Boni Coltibuono comes from the Latin words - good harvest, but also the cult of the good and beautiful things - and that's exactly what we offer our guests: great wines to taste from the breathtaking views of the Chianti and the unique colors of our fir forests , the art of the frescoed halls and elegance of stone, the peace and the silence of our renaissance garden, lazing by the pool, the flavors of Mediterranean cuisine in our restaurant. Those who want to live a culinary experience in the first person can take part in cooking classes we organize throughout the season. The 800 hectares of forest surrounding the Abbey and the marked trails allow pleasant nature walks. The parties originally used by monks for the hospitality of travelers, have been renovated and converted into apartments with every comfort, while the ancient monks' cells have been converted into rooms. Guests have free access to the public areas, the Italian-style garden and swimming pool. For our guests every day reception, honesty bar with internet corner, wi fi in public areas. Our guests are offered a guided tour of the abbey and reserve discounts on tastings, on cooking classes, at our restaurant and at the "Bottega di Coltibuono" to purchase our wines and organic oils Badia a Coltibuono is 650 meters above sea level and is just 7 km from Radda in Chianti, 6 km away from Gaiole in Chianti, 14 km from Montevarchi (trains to Florence and Arezzo, Prada outlet). Siena is 45 minutes, Arezzo in an hour while Florence and San Gimignano in ca. an hour and a half. Located in the highest of the abbey, the apartment Foresteria part is on the 2nd floor and consists of a small living room, kitchen, a large master bedroom with private bath and balcony, a double bedroom, one single bedroom, bathroom. The apartment is equipped with an induction cooker, fridge, hairdryer, ironing board and iron, electric kettle, toaster, TV The rent includes: bed linen and towels, courtesy toiletries, change of towels mid-week (in If weekly), pool towels, final cleaning, electricity, gas, water, use of garden and swimming pool (May to October), the use of the internet point at the honesty bar and wi fi in public areas , the basic cooking ingredients (salt, oil, sugar, etc.), a guided tour of the abbey, discount at our restaurant, off the "Bottega di Coltibuono" to purchase our wines and organic oils, discount on our cooking classes and the afternoon wine tastings, taxes and service. Upon request and for a fee you can have your breakfast usually reserved for guests of the rooms. To be paid locally: sojourn tax.
