Description from owner

Description

Bluefolds Highland Holiday cottages, Glenlivet, Scotland have panoramic views to the Mountains in the Cairngorms National Park. Pets are welcome. Our 3 cottages are set on a hillside within farmland with lots of open space in Glenlivet. This location, to the north east of the Cairngorm Mountains, is dryer and sunnier than areas to the west of Scotland. The wildlife in Glenlivet and the Cairngorms is exceptional such as Red Deer, Roe Deer and Red Squirrels; along with whisky distilleries and castles both lived in and romantic ruins. Dronach Cottage is an end cottage on the steading building with 2 bedrooms,lounge/dinning room; kitchen and bathroom is south facing giving lots of beautiful light in a fenced garden. Red squirrels, pheasants and small birds are regular visitors to our bird feeders. Roe deer can be seen in the fields near the cottage in the early morning and evening. We welcome well behaved dogs - normally 1 or 2. Excellent area for walking, wildlife and whisky!

“Excellent”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2019

One of three isolated intimate stone cottage with stunning views up a long lane past a working farm. Sleeps upto 6 with two bedrooms and takes upto 2 dogs got extra £25. All necessary facilities with kitchen well stocked with utensils. Small wood/coal burning stove as well as formal heating. TV and WiFi. Excellent information pack and maps and binoculars provided. Owners very responsive to one’s needs and very helpful. Bathroom has toilet, sink and shower. Water comes from stream but is pure and drinkable. The air is pure and the views are simply stunning. One of three cottages semidetached around small court yard. Either go for a romantic getaway or as a group of family and friends as a base to visit the highlands. Good enough to want to come back. Don’t go if you don’t like peace and quiet, snow peaked mountains, pure clean air, stunning views wildlife, walks on the moors, the highlands and historic Scotland. Do go if you like whisky, there’s no shortage of choice.
