“Relaxed and calm holiday feeling”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2021

It's in a very quiet area. No road noise. Fantastic view from the window. 4 adults and 2 kids can fit. Large lounge and good sized kitchen. No mobile phone signal, only WiFi signal. Interesting place and landmarks to view. Whitby beach 45 minutes drive. If you want to enjoy the nature choose this place. Very reasonable price. Enjoyed our holiday and will come back. “An idyllic hideaway - an oasis of calm”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2019

Daleside Holiday Lodge is located within a quiet valley in the National Park, close to the small village of Westerdale but ideally situated to ensure you can max out on the various attractions and places to visit in both coast and country. We really enjoyed the peaceful oasis of the cottage and made great use of the location through visits to Whitby, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and of course Staithes. Don't miss the joys of a steam train ride on the NY Moors Railway and the Danby Moors Visitor Centre as well as local walks aplenty. The cottage is great, being very tastefully decorated and having all the usual facilities. The views from the bedrooms in particular over the valley are beautiful and we wouldn't hesitate booking again to visit this beautiful part of the world.

“A hidden gem full of peace and quiet!”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2018

We were looking for a remote holiday to destress and unwind. We came across Daleside and thought we would give it a try. Absolute perfection. Peace and quiet personified. If you want phone signal and hustle and bustle then this is not the place for you (although we did have wifi ). We were greeted by the lovely Jackie and Ian and George the Labrador who was a big old softie. Jackie showed us round the house and showed us how everything worked. We were then left to our own devices. We took food with us and only ventured out to nearby Castleton to restock on essentials at the small co-op. Check out the tea room in the chapel, such friendly service and the cakes were amazing!! Whitby is only a short car journey away, as is Middlesbrough and Guisborough. We absolutely loved the peace and quiet, sheep bleating, chickens clucking, and not much else! No traffic. Pitch black on a night with a sky full of stars. If you are wanting a short break to unwind and unload the stresses of everyday life then I would heartly recommend Daleside. Thank you Jackie and Ian for making us feel so welcome xx Tina, Dave and Sharon xx
