Description
Mungo's Well cottage is a well equipped, light & airy, holiday cottage in the heart of the Scottish Borders, a peaceful spot 3 miles north of Kelso. Easy drive to the east coast, hills, Edinburgh. Private, south-facing conservatory, garden and patio with views of the Eden Water & Cheviot hills. Log burning stove. Superfast free fibre Wi-Fi. EV charger is on site.
Mungo's Well cottage has one bedroom with a 6" wide double bed which can be arranged as twin beds. There is central heating throughout and a log burner in the living room. All of the rooms are on the same level, with level access from the large, private car park. Cars can approach close to the main entrance of Mungo's Well cottage for loading.
Relax in your private south-facing conservatory, or in a recliner on the patio, watching the wildlife, admire the garden, walk in our fields and along the riverside, or snuggle-up in front of your cosy log-burning stove.
Mungo's Well cottage has a light & airy living room with plenty of space for comfortable seating and also dining. The separate kitchen is well equipped with a fridge freezer, hob, oven, dishwasher and a combination microwave oven. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. On-site there is a lockable cycle, fishing gear, shed and a separate laundry with a washing machine and tumble drier for the use of guests. Mungo's Well cottage has a heated drying cupboard. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our cottages.
Mungo's Well is within 50 minutes drive of Edinburgh, & 50 mins drive from the superb east coast, Border towns, Cheviot and Ettrick hills. Ideal for visiting the many abbeys, gardens and stately homes which are found nearby (Floors Castle and Mellerstain House are just a few minutes away). Just 3 miles from Kelso with its splendid market square, majestic abbey ruins, racecourse, individual shops and a wide selection of places to eat.
The quiet country roads are a joy for motorists and cyclists alike. More adventurous mountain bikers can test their nerves on the Glentress trails. For the less daring, the Borders offers a wide variety of golf courses, fishing, horse-riding,(riding stables next door), walking - from strenuous hikes up the Cheviot to peaceful strolls amongst the splendid Borders scenery - or admiring the textiles, pottery, woodwork and paintings on show in the numerous studios and galleries to be found within the area.....and you can return to relax in the peace of Burnbrae.
We live on-site and enjoy helping guests with information and other assistance.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you to Burnbrae.
