Description

Merlin Cottages is a small character stone built complex consisting of Merlin House (8-9 persons), Merlin Barn (6) and High Barn (5). Please see our other adverts for availability in other properties. The Cottages are 4 Star VisitWales with Walkers Welcome Award. There is a purpose shared built Garden Building with Games Room, Laundry and Walkers Drying Room. 3 and 7 night prices are fixed but please ask for a quote for better rates on 4 to 6 night stays.

Merlin Barn is a recently converted 1850s barn to a great standard with comfy underfloor heating in the main reception room along with great period features such as oak beams. French windows open onto a patio area with fabulous views of the Brecon Beacons. Great Common Garden building on site with slate bed snooker table and other games. Walk out in the morning to great scenery and trails in the nearby Crychan Forest.

“Amazing”

We stayed for 4 days and it was a lovely stay. The environment, the cottage it self was beautiful, host left us some food which we appreciated a lot. Overall beautiful time. Would go there again and highly recommended.

“Peaceful setting in rural Wales”

Merlin Barn was a last minute selection but we were not disappointed. From the onset, the owners were very helpful with information on the property and directions to get there (heed their advice!). The 'barn' is actually very modern and well appointed. The views from the patio are lovely. Having the entire place to ourselves gave us a lot of freedom to come and go as we pleased without having to disturb anyone. The games room was well stocked with a pool table, table tennis, books and other board games although the internet wasn't working. Lllandovery is only a 20 mins drive away if you need to get into town.
