Description from owner

Description

Lochead Cottage is a 3 bedroom cottage situated at the head of the loch.

Downstairs there is a spacious double bedroom, a sitting room and a large dining kitchen. The is also a shower room, and porch area.

Upstairs there are two twin rooms and a full bathroom.

It has a large garden which is fenced in; ideal for dogs. There is a patio with barbecue and outdoor seating to enjoy the views from.

Ellary Estate lies between Lochs Sween & Caolisport. This is the scenery which has made the West Coast of Scotland famous. The shore consists of rocky outcrops with inlets and sandy beaches, islands and islets and just cries out to be explored. The structure of the rock forms a series of large or small glens and corries which lie in the same direction making walking the hills a shear delight. Many comment that the same fascination can be experienced on a short walk, not far from the accommodation where they are staying, as from a long expedition into the hills; although it is recommend, for anyone staying more than a few days, to head out to Corrbhan Mor which is the highest point of Ellary and Castle Sween estates to see the most beautiful countryside.

The area is one of outstanding unspoilt natural beauty and Ellary provides the perfect location for a quiet get away from it all peaceful holiday. The choice is yours whether you want a quiet unwind or to sample the wealth of outdoor pursuits on the door step to suitable abilities; the Estate has slipway and harbour facilities for small/medium boats and the sailing is excellent. Exploring the west coast is also possible with Oban about an hour or so by car to the north.

Post Code: PA31 8PA

Electricity is not included in the price - it is metered and charged at the end of your stay, at cost price. Bed linen is not included, so you will need to bring sheets and towels (duvets, pillows and blankets are provided).

Response from the owner Sorry to hear that you weren't completely happy with your stay in Lochead Cottage. All the cottages are checked between guests and I can only apologise as we must have overlooked a couple of things. All bedding is regularly replaced, and we always use pillow protectors etc - however we have got multiple spares of everything up at the office, so would have happily replaced everything for you immediately had we been aware that there was an issue. We have never had anyone find the sofas uncomfortable and I can only apologise that they were not to your liking. Electricity is charged at cost price only for the units used (we pay the standing charge) - we have found this to be more eco-friendly, and advice on how to keep the bill very low is printed on the back of the slip (for example, use the back boiler on the fire instead of the immerser). Thank you for the points you have raised - we will look in to each, and hope that you will stay with us again.

All bedding is regularly replaced, and we always use pillow protectors etc - however we have got multiple spares of everything up at the office, so would have happily replaced everything for you immediately had we been aware that there was an issue. The living room carpet was brand new over the winter, and we are unaware of any stains in any of the other rooms - however we will look in to this and shampoo/replace them if necessary. The windows were done on Friday after you left - apologies that this was not satisfactory during your stay - it is not part of our regular changeover, but we will certainly review the frequency of our window cleaning. Response from the owner We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time on the estate, but are sad to hear about the housekeeping issues you encountered. All of our cottages are checked and cleaned to a very high standard before and after every single customer, but we are only human and sometimes things may be overlooked. Had you made us aware of any issues, we would have rectified them immediately - there is someone around 24/7 to help with any questions or problems you might have. Most of our customers return year after year, and are very happy with the standard of the cottages. We hope to meet your expectations the next time, should you return.
