Wow. What can I say? The first time I was here I was blown away. I felt like alice in Wonderland who had just found the bottle labeled "drink me" The ceilings are so high! I have never been in a private home like this. The attention to detail, the modern upgrades in things like heated bathroom and kitchen floors really provide it all!
One of the women in my group loves to cook and couldn't stop talking about the kitchen features like warming drawers and something. I was fascinated by the town and all it's charms. Steps from the house is this amazing Cave Hill Cemetary and Botanical garden.
The owner provided all kinds of tips about great places to go. I highly recommend this home for a girls weekend because it is located not too far from lots of cities.
I have rented this home 3 times now with different groups and would for sure come back again.

We stayed for Ford Iron Man for 5 nights. 7 adults, 2 teens, 1 child. Stunning home- not your average rental house, but a huge, stately place that still has everything from plasma TVs to wifi.
We arrived a little early to find the homeowner and housekeeper still prepping house. A little awkward, but the rest of the stay was perfect.
Also, ALL 3 of us FINISHED THE RACE!!! My husband's two teenage girls loved the neighborhood and my sister's little boy played in the nearby park.

My wife and I rented this home for 10 days over Christmas 2008 as splurge for our family. We chose Louisville as it was a central gathering point for my two sons (along with wives and 5 grandchildren) and us. It was a truly beautiful home--great details like massive crown moldings and high ceilings, wood floors, many fireplaces.
The owners had decked the home for the holidays- with a large cut tree & wreaths. They also left us basics like coffee, milk, eggs and fruit.
The home was perfect for us- each couple had a large king bedroom with private bath, the kids shared the three remaining bedrooms. I wanted the luxury suite on the third floor, but my wife has a knee issue, so we ended up in the first floor master and my son and his wife took the suite. The kids were crazy about all the tv gaming equipment and the dvds. It was great to have the big family room on the second floor for the kids while the adults spent time together in the first floor living room areas with the tree lit and the fireplace on.
The dining room was perfect for Christmas dinner (although we did have to bring in extra chairs from the kitchen and squeeze a bit). The kitchen is amazing-- huge, with a big table, every appliance you can think of and plenty of dishes, glassware, pots/pans. The one suggestion I would make for the kitchen is to write out directions for how to use the appliances--We had no idea how to operate the built in pasta sink and it took us quite awhile to figure out the Advantium.
The neighborhood is full of big Victorian houses and trees. It was too cold to spend much time in the park, but we did walk the younger kids there several times to burn off energy. We loved Jack Fry's and went three times (restaurant 2 minute walk from house). My daughter in law lived at the Starbucks- a block away. Downtown is about a mile away with many other things to do (we particularly enjoyed making "blow your own" glass ornaments at the GlassWorks and seeing "A Christmas Carol"
