Description from owner

Description

On the first slopes of the Hill of Monte Carlo, separating the plain of Lucca by the Valdinievole, in the midst of a "farm" cultivated for olive trees (over 400), vines and vegetables, the bed and breakfast "il podere di Giustina" is housed in a recently restored and renovated House, which is able to offer the same comfort of the most modern town houses. In the House lived the two owners who are willing to share with guests the many appliances (washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc.), a kitchen-living room, library with guides and maps of places to visit, the garden, the wide open spaces also play equipment for children and the Shady Grove with tables and chairs. If you want, you can also participate in some simple agricultural activities, such as harvesting or collecting olives.

The guest bedroom, designed and furnished with some originality, combining modern facilities and furniture inherited from grandparents, is separated from the rest of the House and is located on the first floor of the building; has a shower, bathroom, TV lcd with satellite connection and free subscription to Sky tv, dvd and bluray, hairdryer and ceiling fan. Wi-fi is available and free of charge. From the extensive views of the surrounding landscape. It is perpetually available everything needed to accommodate children under 4 years (cot, high chair, cage, etc.).

During their stay, guests can enjoy in the morning a rich continental breakfast, prepared by Paola with local products and highly appreciated in all the reviews of B&b. Breakfast is served in the cold season in the large kitchen dining room of the residence and summer almost always outdoors within walking distance by olive groves and vineyards of the surrounding countryside.

What makes a stay at "the farm of Justina" are family-style hospitality, care and attention that you will be surrounded by the owners, which in the past were secondary school teachers and will have you as only their guests, as well as the price, kept low by the small size and the fact that there is no need for additional staff.

By 1932, for over 60 years, lived in this place, Justina, the grandmother of the current owner, well known in the area for its availability, joviality and fun, but also for his tenacity in work and for the great skill in preparing lunches and welcoming guests. After her husband's death, has remained the owner of the "farm" until 2000, when it was turned off at the age of 96 years. It is to his well-known ability to accommodate guests who are inspired by the current owners.

Visitors access our guests can have access to all premises of our House, with the exception of our bedroom, as well as per hectare and a half of land surrounding it. They can use exclusively, as well as of their bathroom and bedroom, satellite television with Sky, a hair dryer, a fan, a wi-fi connection, heating, parking. In the morning enjoy a rich continental breakfast, prepared with local products and highly appreciated in all the reviews of B&b. Breakfast is served in the cold season in the large kitchen dining room of the residence and summer almost always outdoors within walking distance by olive groves and vineyards of the surrounding countryside.

Also will share in accordance with us the many appliances (washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, refrigerator, microwave, etc.), one of the two kitchens, library with guides and maps of places to visit, the cellar, the garden, the wide open spaces also play equipment for children and the Shady Grove with chairs and a table where in summer you can eat, and with a hammock, where you can rest. If you want, you can also participate in some simple agricultural activities, such as harvesting or collecting olives. Finally, to those who come by train you may be loaned or rented one of our cars (not recent).

Interaction with our guests really like to interact with our guests, if they so wish. Some of them have become our friends (on Facebook). We have a lot of maps and guides, in Italian and English, and every day we provide indications about restaurants, pizzerias, places to visit, itineraries (by car, by foot, bicycle, etc.). If someone arrives by train, we always take him to the station and skip lines later. Sometimes, especially in winter, we can also accompany someone to the restaurant.

We are available to provide explanations of any kind, whether with regard to history or to local art, both with regard to kitchen recipes, well known from Paola.

There are a lot of cute little babies, who have grandchildren games both at home and outdoors (swings, jumps/leaps, etc.) and that, if they wish, can play, as happened repeatedly, with our two grandchildren, Catherine and Leonardo, of 6 and 3 years old.

If we become friends of our guests (we need some time for that), we can also invite, as has already happened, at birthday parties of our grandchildren or to dinners with our friends or to participate with us at concerts, theatre, etc.

A description of your neighborhood from the House you can do walking around amidst typical Tuscan hill landscape with its olive groves and its vines, quickly reach the town of Montecarlo, very typical for its medieval layout and the Medici fortress, but also rich in numerous excellent restaurants and pizzerias. The many farms in the area produce an excellent wine, for which he was awarded the d. o. c., and extra virgin olive oil, considered among the best of Tuscany; are greatly appreciated the visits of wine cellars and oil mills and guided tours are available, which make it possible to understand the way the wine and olive oil are produced, but also to taste wines and olive oil of excellent quality. There are numerous events organised in Monaco, by the "Wine Festival" in early September, to "Via Vinaria" in May (17 wineries tour with wine tasting), from Monte Carlo "chocolate" (October) at the "Festival of the new wine and the oil again" (November), the theater season to summer "Montecarlo", etc.

A tour around The bed and breakfast is in the countryside, in an area subject to environmental constraint, but at the same time is not far away either from the motorway (4 km), or from the train station (1 km), reachable on foot. Using the train, you can quickly reach Lucca, Pisa, Pistoia, Florence, Viareggio.

Monaco is a small and peaceful town, surrounded by greenery, but not far from every kind of comfort and for its location is an ideal starting point to visit the northern Tuscany. Vacations that you can spend here you match all tastes and all ages! Enjoy cultural holidays, visiting museums and historical cities, such as Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Pistoia, Vinci, San Gimignano, Volterra, culinary, or choosing between taverns and Tuscan restaurants, famous for the quality of their service, those who are best suited to your tastes. But the place is also suitable for children: only 8 km. There is Collodi, Pinocchio's town, in the Pistoia zoo, 25, near many public pools and only half an hour drive from the popular seaside resort of Viareggio and the Versilia coast. Are also the Cinque Terre and the rocky coastline South of Livorno. You can relax by making long walks on the nearby plateau Pizzorne (approximately 1000 meters in height) or in Garfagnana or have fun on the night in the numerous pubs and discos nearby Valdinievole or Viareggio. If you care about your health, at 12 km. Some are renowned spas, as Montecatini and Monsummano Terme, with the famous Grotta Giusti.
