Response from the owner Thanks so much for your review. The house is perfectly placed for exploring - as you can get the train to both Florence and Rome from Chiusi, and also the slow train through beautiful countryside to Siena from Torrita di Siena. Please come and stay again and explore some more!

“Stunning Views”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2016

We had a most enjoyable time at this house and would recommend it for its location and closeness to Montepulciano. The house was delightful and the views across the valley and surrounding countryside were excellent. We can recommend the local farm nearby called the Il Greppo Family Farm. We enjoyed their weekly Saturday evening meal and sent wine home to taste at Christmas. Unfortunately, not long after our arrival, my husband was admitted to the local hospital with bronchial pneumonia and stayed there for 9 nights. The care he received while in hospital was fantastic so we can certainly recommend the local hospital.

“Comfortable base in the heart of Tuscany”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2013

Poggio Saragio is located on a quiet lane among vineyards and orchards, with beautiful views across rolling hills in central Tuscany - sitting on the back terrace taking in the amazing views and colours and listening to distant church bells was an absolute delight. Neighbours are close by (including the pigs, cattle etc at the farm across the road if you want to visit!) however privacy is not a problem. Only five mins into town to get all your supplies at the co-op, and many hilltop villages within very easy reach makes for some facinating day trips. The house has been tastefully renovated and was clean, fresh, welcoming and very comfortable - we were two couples and had plenty of space. A week was far to short to savour both the house and the local area - will just have to go back one day soon!

“A lovely farmhouse, perfectly located and stunning views.”

Reviewed 2 Jul 2012

We would highly recommend this lovely Tuscan farmhouse. The views from the back of the house are some of the best in the area and sitting on the terrace on warm evenings drinking the local Montelpuciano wines and watching the sun set was far better than sitting in any restaurant. At the front of the farmhouse is a working farm and we sat on the sunny loggia each morning having our breakfast watching the turkeys, geese and chickens pottering past - all very relaxing. The location is excellent and is only a short drive from some lovely Renaissance towns - our favourite was the small but perfectly designed Pienza. The farmhouse is well equipped and very comfortable, and the pool is the icing on the cake - just the thing on hot afternoons after a morning sightseeing and shopping. We definitely recommend this property.

“The perfect Tuscan hideaway - and ideally located for exploring the many sights in this region.”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2012

We spent 2 days in Rome en route, and took the train to Chiusi - it was so easy! We then hired a car in Chiusi and drove to the house (only 20 mins), in time to unload and go into town (5 mins) to shop. The house could not be more perfectly located - you feel as though you are in the middle of the Tuscan countryside (with the most spectacular views towards Montepulciano) - and yet you are only minutes away from a well stocked town, with restaurants, supermarkets, etc. There is so much to see and do in the area - Monteplulciano was definitely a favourite, but all of the hilltop towns are magical, and the scenic drives to/from everywhere are a joy in themselves! The house is extremely well equipped with everything you need, and is very tastefully and comfortably decorated. There are mountain bikes, which are perfect for cycling around the vineyards - and a great way of working off the amazing local food and wine! The surrounding countryside is breathtaking, and when you sit on the terrace listening to the birds, and taking in the views, you feel as though you are in Paradise - it is so incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The owners, Sarah & Patrick, are lovely and very helpful. All in all I could not recommend this holiday more highly - and we will definitely be going back. In fact I am continually saying "I wish we could go to Tuscany"!....

“Wonderful wonderful holiday home!”

Poggio Saragio is exactly as shown in the photographs. The villa is spacious, clean and a real home from home with a BBQ, books to read, DVDs to watch and even a docking station and speakers for your ipod. Bathrooms beautifully tiled with plenty of hot water.Kitchen well equipped. All details about the villa are available in the "House Book" including where to eat, shop and visit. We loved using the pool and especially enjoyed eating meals on the patio. The sunset viewed from the patio is awesome. Poggio Saragio is a ideally situated for exploring the area.
