Located a short drive from Edinburgh, the Quayside Apartment is a self-contained, self-catering holiday home in a residential block. We overlook a sandy beach, with beautiful views across the Firth of Forth towards Arthur's Seat the apartment is perfect for families and those seeking a tranquil setting for a relaxing break.

Golfers may visit some of the 22 golf courses nearby or you can spend a day at the Musselburgh Races, enjoy the natural beauty of the coastline, and for families, there is a great children's play area on the beach as well. Of course, those wanting to visit and explore Edinburgh can easily do so whilst staying in a quieter spot. Portobello is a brisk walk away and the city centre lies 5 miles away and is easily accessed by car or public transport.

Everyone who stays will appreciate the stunning view from the lounge, which is perfect for watching the dawn and sunset over the sea, the sea birds at low tide, and the comings and goings along the shore.

When you arrive you may be greeted by our housekeeper, who will call you shortly before your arrival to make arrangements. He can show you around and arrange for groceries, etc to be delivered on arrival. We will leave you to your own devices during your stay, but we are only a phone call away if there are any issues. PLEASE NOTE: Most website inquiries are responded to in the evenings, but, especially at weekends when I can be busy, may take upto 24hrs. Booked guests can expect fast responses by mobile phone.

“Great views at this holiday apartment”

We stayed here for 2 nights in May 2023. Communication was great right from ore-booking. Information about check in/out was clear as where the directions to the apartment. 7 of us stayed. I have to say that the views from the apartment are worth booking for alone. I really enjoyed my morning coffee and my evening glass of wine sitting at the window, looking out to sea. If you have young children, this place really caters for your children. There is a play area right outside. We stayed when there was a Harbour festival, we really enjoyed watching the raft races from the living room window. There was a snack bar on the beach that had queues all day long, although we never tried it ourselves. We enjoyed a long walk on the beach with the family dog. We didn't see a lot of Musselborough as we had plans in Edinburgh for most of the time we stayed. There was a Lidl supermarket just over the road and a pub on the corner. The apartment has 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en suite, with a waterfall shower. There's another bathroom with a shower over the bath. The small bedroom had a single bed and bunkbeds, that our 3 older children stayed in. The other bedroom had twin beds that we had requested be set as a double bed for the weekend. We all slept well. There were toys/bath toys and board games at the apartment, which is great for any younger children staying. We were able to easily park 2 cars outside the front door throughout our stay, although there was underground parking for one car if needed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were really clean, with fresh bedding on arrival. There was a hairdryer for use if needed. Just a heads up, there was no mirror in the largest/smallest bedrooms, there was one in the en suite, but as someone who would want a mirror near a plug for drying my hair in the bedroom, I would recommend taking one with you if you stay. Now for my 'niggles'. I expected the dishes/cutlery ect to be clean on arrival, however we found a couple of very dirty plates in the cupboard and dirty knives in the drawer. As guests are asked to clean the dishes before they leave, I suppose this is a risk. On discovering these, as i was about to serve dinner, i washed everything before use. There was food of some sort stuck to the sofa seat when we arrived, again I cleaned this off. We were left 6 towels for 7 guests and the coffee table in the living room had a very wobbly leg and looked in need of repair. We were left details of the cleaner and I could have made contact, if it was such a big issue. There we're cleaning products in the cupboard, so it was easy enough to do myself. And despite this, I would absolutely recommend and would book again in the future.
