Description

Georgian manse set in the heart of the small rural Scottish Borders village of Newcastleton. Perfect for groups, 10 is ideal, short breaks or longer. Only 30 minutes from the M6/M74 corridor. Perfect location for a reunion, family occasion, celebration or just sharing precious time with your loved ones. We accept 2 well-behaved dogs. Eat-in, eat out or get in the caterers we can sort it for you, there are bars and restaurants yards from your front door.

Accommodation is over 2 floors, upper has 5 double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, 3 are en-suite. Beds have beautiful linens - its like sleeping on a cloud! The ground floor has large entrance hall, drawing room with fire and 50 inch TV, separate TV room also has a 50 inch HD TV with Sky channels and Premiership football. Sonos music system allows you to play your own music or our vast library of sounds. FREE SUPERFAST WIFI throughout. The formal dining room is fully equipped for dinner parties with a huge kitchen, separate breakfast room and downstairs cloakroom.

French doors lead to a large patio and terrace in a secure garden; perfect for outside entertaining or having a few sundowners before dinner. We welcome 2 well-behaved dogs during your stay. Children in the party? Sorted! The local activity centre will keep them amused for hours.

Getting around

To appreciate all our scenery it is advisable to travel to the village by car. Car hire can be arranged from any mainline station, our nearest is Carlisle. The village offers a local bus service but this is only viable if you wish to travel to our local towns; Hawick in the north and Carlisle in the south. The M6/M74 is only 30 mins away making Dalkeith House a great location for friends and families to meet who are travelling from the north, south, east or west.

Interaction with guest

We welcome all guests to Dalkeith House personally. A brief familiarisation about the house is given on arrival along with info on local places to visit, eat and so forth. We live locally and are on hand for any unexpected surprises if they arise or to help with any concerns you may have during your stay. We can arrange for any catering you may need and are happy to dog-sit if your plans take you away from the house for longer than you (or we) would wish to leave a dog unattended.

How do damage deposits work?
