Description from owner

Description

Enjoy the magic of living in a historic house, and in the very heart of Tuscany.

Villa Di Lupo Parra opens its doors and welcomes you in an incomparable atmosphere of art and nature.

The apartment named " Three centuries of art" is on the first floor of the villa; you will get there through a large, magnificent staircase, which features amazing frescoes on the walls and the ceiling. The rooms are large, peaceful, comfortable, bright, smartly furnished with precious antiques, and with a beautiful view. . The apartment is composed of a large living room, a double bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. Two additional single beds can be provided in the living room. Sky channels are available.

This apartment is the most peculiar in the house as it is an extraordinary witness of the evolution of taste in fine arts over the centuries. During a recent restoration we have found on the walls of the living room, under some layers of common paint, three different frescoes one over the other, which date respectively from 18th, 19th and 20th century, and we have kept all of them in view, so you can see how the room has changed its look over the time. The frescoes featured in the bedroom depict the symbols of arts (music, architecture, sculpture and painting). The apartment is provided with a piano and its atmosphere is perfect to make art lovers feel at home and enjoy their stay here.

The apartment and its equipment are accurately cleaned and sanitized before any check-in and after any check-out. The gap between a check-out and a new check-in is at least 24 hours so that the rooms can be aired a whole day according to health authorities' anti-Covid recommendations.

Thanks to the considerable indoors and outdoors space social distancing and safety requirements are fulfilled.

A beautiful garden of 2.7 acres surrounds the villa, where it is nice to stay in the shade of magnificent old-age trees.

There is everything for a relaxing holiday of culture and good life, far from crowds and in a true noble Italian villa.

Bicycles are available for guests, free of charge.

Located just 2 minutes from the motorway exit, the property is the ideal base for your art itineraries to Pisa, Lucca, Firenze, Volterra, San Gimignano, and Siena.

Shops, restaurants and cafés are within walking distance, as well as a bus stop and a train station with direct trains for Pisa and Florence, and connections for the main cities of Tuscany.

The sea is not far, with beautiful beaches in Tirrenia (just 20 minutes away by car) and in Viareggio (30 minutes), as well as picturesque bays with cliffs and beaches near Livorno.

In November and December do not miss the famous local white truffles, as well as excellent wines and pure olive oil from local producers.

“Beautiful Villa and Excellent hosts!”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2015

I would like to recommend Villa Parra and in particular at the "three centuries of art" apartment as my family and I had a very pleasant stay there. Both Donatella and her husband were very kind and helpful and assisted us with any request or need we had and made us feel very welcome. The apartment, which has beautiful view of the mountains around, was very comfortable, very clean and well equipped to the detail. We very much appreciated the books and all the information about the area that they provided and the piano in the living room which my children loved to play. Villa Parra in Navacchio by Pisa airport, is an ideal rural location which is very close to the main Tuscan cities of Pisa and Florence as well as the seaside villages of Tirrenia and Viareggio. We enjoyed our stay so much that we would love to return to Villa Parra were we really felt at home.

“History at its best.”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2015

It is a while since my last review on the basis that if you can't say something nice say nothing at all. Finally though I have found something to shout about. Whilst I am not suggesting this facility suits all, if you are looking to enjoy the treasures of Northern Italy with its history and wonderful views then why not stay in your own historical establishment while you do it. The process of booking the apartment is a delight as Donatella makes you feel like you are a member of her family with nothing too much trouble. I asked for help in booking a concert locally during our stay and received back not only availability but also when, where and how to get the tickets. (when we arrived we found out that Donatella was attending the same concert so she collected our tickets for us and also accompanied us to the concert driving us both there and back. The apartment is situated close to the main line station giving you access to Florence, Siena and Pisa to name but a few, you are picked up from the airport by Donatella or her husband (free of charge) so a hire car is not strictly necessary and if you want to explore there are bikes available as part of the package, a word of warning if like me you are not a regular bike rider the saddle on the mountain bike can and in my case did cause ongoing pain/damage, although I will add that I did grin and bear it on 3 separate occasions. I have been home now for a few weeks and finally I am starting to sit down with out making a strange face. I mentioned earlier that this apartment might not suit all because there is no pool or facilities for children apart from the lovely gardens but the experience of touching history in this manner can only be viewed as memorable. The story of the restoration puts a little in doubt the sanity of the owners but you end up in awe of them as you realise the enormity of the task they have taken on. What has been achieved is nothing short of magical but the journey is still a long way from completion. We are helping a little by returning in November to once again be consumed by history, but this time I am taking with me padded cycling shorts.
