Now in its 22nd successful year of operation, La Lucertola offers guests the opportunity to relax in some of the most beautiful Tuscan countryside imaginable. Stunning views over countryside, forest, field, Pisa and The Leaning Tower are clearly visible and the Mediterranean sea occupies the far ground vista - absolutely amazing!
Enjoy this amazing setting by staying in our well-appointed, comfortable and spacious house, newly re-decorated, with a beautiful relaxing blue, olive green and subtle greys colour scheme, interior designed by Manuela who specialises in country home restoration.
This is an eco-friendly choice. Our electricity is generated by solar panels. Our water comes from a mountain spring and is purified by a UV filter. We cut logs and these you use fro outdoor grills, BBQs and pizza making. In the colder months the logs are freely available for supplementary heating. We make our own delicious olive oil - if you are here in October you can watch us at work or even join in the olive harvest!
Cooking is easy in our well equipped and full sized kitchen. Next door there is separate and ample lounge space. There are two good-sized bedrooms with access to the balcony, from the master bedroom, offering magnificent views as far as the eye can see. The house enjoys 2 bathrooms, one with a bath and both with shower. This is a super house in which one would happily live all year round. The view has a real wow factor - uninterrupted views over olive grove, forest, field, Pisa in the mid ground including a clear view of the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Mediterranean Sea beyond.
We have created a beautiful swimming pool and luxurious lounging zone. The early arrival and late departure of the warm and sunny days means that the pool is open from early May until late October. In keeping with the beautiful nature that surrounds us, the pool is filled with lightly salted spring water, so there is no need for chlorine. The water is like silk on the skin. The lounging zone is on two levels; in front of the pool, the area is paved with stone, furnished with sun loungers, shaded with the branches of an ancient olive tree and screened by flowering wisteria and Mediterranean plants. At pool level there is a hard wood decking area with sun loungers, shaded wooden pergola and a unique poolside spring water shower which comes directly out of an ancient olive tree. The whole area enjoys stunning views of olive grove, forest, field, villages, valley and sea. It is perfect for sunbathing, evening drinks and after dark swimming in the illuminated pool. The whole area is also covered by Wi Fi.
Enjoy the large sun terrace, gardens and outside space. Eat under the pergolas, sit out under the stars at night, watch the fireflies and listen to the sounds of nature. Make your own pizzas, enjoy the barbeque using freely available cut and seasoned olive wood. Bliss!
The house is cool in the summer and warm and cosy in the colder months thanks to full central heating and of course a fabulous log fire in the sitting room.
Feel good about this choice of holiday - this is an eco-friendly destination: the house is powered by solar panels and the water comes from a natural spring - you drink it, bathe in it and swim in it - wonderful!
The helpful and friendly owners live in a separate property on the land. Should you need any tips about where to eat, places to see or any other advice to help you make the most of your stay, they are delighted to help and speak English, Italian, French, some German and Spanish.
