Description

Margaritas II is a beautiful upscale condo development located 4 short blocks from Playa del Carmen's famous 5th Avenue in the urbane part of town known as 'Little Italy'. And it is only one more block to its world famous white sand beaches. This premium property is a perfect place either for families or a small group who want to indulge in the sophisticated international ambiance of Playa del Carmen but who prefer the intimacy of a self catered apartment to the impersonality of hotel service.

Our condo development is extremely well cared for: it has an on-site cleaning staff as well as 24 hour security staff (and electronic gate). The grounds are beautifully landscaped with palm trees and other tropical flowering plants. The two 50 foot pools, which are surrounded by grass. They are 5' deep at one end and have kids wading style pools at the other. Community lounge chairs surround the pools.

Our particular unit is ideally located in the quiet side of the complex above the pool on the second floor away from the entrance gate or street traffic. The balcony is perfect for lounging and letting the day drift away...We have furnished our condo beautifully in an elegant but urban contemporary style which includes imported Italian sofa and beds, a custom sofa in the living room, pillow top mattresses on the queen size beds, elegant draperies, area carpets and original art from local and international artists. Recently renovated, all cabinetry and interior doors - indeed all woodwork - are in espresso brown, as is the imported Italian furniture throughout. The environment we have created is sophisticated and relaxing. We think our condo offers much more than the average vacation rental property, from a custom media center in living area which includes a 40 inch 1080 HD TV in the living room (including a Blue Ray player) and satellite TV, to a Nintendo Wii in one bedroom, to bathrooms with walk-in showers, to built-in custom closets in the two very large bedrooms, to granite countertops in the kitchen and numerous small appliances including an espresso coffee pot. Very practical but also very lovely!

Getting around

Playa is a walking city, so few people own cars. You can really walk the whole tourist zone without any trouble. If you need to get somewhere more quickly, taxis are everywhere. You can hail one right on the street and travel from point A to point B within the tourist zone for about only 35 pesos. But always ask the driver the fee before you get in! The Playa tourist zone is generally a very safe place but your own common sense should always apply in any foreign place you travel to. Further afield from Playa del Carmen a bit are Cancun (excitement!), Akumal (swim with wild sea turtles in the bay!), Tulum (Mayan ruins and hipster bars and hotels!), and the great Mayan pyramid of Chichen Itza. Take a luxury bus or rent a car.

Interaction with guest

We are not residents in Playa del Carmen but come to our condo one or two months every year. We decided to rent it out as it stands empty for the other ten months. As such , any contact between us and our guests is limited to the initial rental emails. However, we have an off-site property manager in Playa who will be able to answer any questions or assist you if a real need arises. Claudio will check you in and out, point out the property rules (which are posted just inside the main gate and at the pool), and solve problems should they occur (such as the blender stopped working, etc.). He is not however a concierge so don’t expect him to arrange tours, etc..

It really has the best of both worlds: the nightly glam of Avenida Quinta and the daytime pleasures of lounging on the beach.
