Description
At 1 mile of the beautiful beach of Xcalacoco you will find our cute 3-bedroom home. It is equipped for 1-6 people with everything you as a tourist might desire. We like to make sure you will have a great time there and will want to return to our house during your next trip to Playa del Carmen. If something would accidentally break or cease to work the home manager (Paula) is always close by to assist you and fix the problem immediately.

Even if it says the house has two bathrooms, it actually has 1,5. Aside from the full bathroom upstairs there is a toilet and sink combination, often refered to as a 1/2 bathroom, downstairs. It was not possible to choose this option however.
The street that the house resides in ends in a park/playground. This leads to hardly any traffic in front of the house. Apart from making the surroundinds safer for children to play in it also adds to the silence of course.
By the way, we rent two other houses in the same neighborhood. They offer space for 14 more guests, so if you are with a large family you could perhaps conveniently rent two of them, or perhaps all three.

La playa si, desde que construyeron el hotel Azul fives la entrada publica esta un poquito mas lejos que antes. Voy a medir la distancia exacta y ponerla en la descripcion. El hotel eligio una de las partes de la playa sin piedras, pero es muy cerca la entrada publica y todos podemos disfrutarla. La playa es de todos.

Response from the owner Thank you for your review and the many nice things you said in there. Also, we don't mind to receive a little criticism now and then. It keeps us on our toes. We like to constantly improve the level of comfort of our house, so tips are always welcome. The unfortunate thing about a review however is that it is usually at the end of someone's stay. If you wait until that moment to state a problem it's too late for us to fix it for you. That is why we encourage our guests to notify us of even the smallest issues at the very moment they run into them. No need to feel uncomfortable about this, we enjoy giving you the best possible experience. Like you said, our manager is always closeby and ready to jump to the rescue. Of course she would have replaced the missing hand towels in a heartbeat. She has done this now, so there is absolutely no need for anyone to bring them. By the way, there are 12 large beach towels available as well. The plumbing problem indeed was a clear case of bad luck. An incident which I again apologize for and I am very happy that we were able to solve the problem swiftly. By the way, plumbing in general is a weak spot in Mexican houses. Even many luxurious hotels ask you to not flush toilet paper for example. The plumbing system is not that old by the way. In fact. our house and the entire neighborhood were constructed only about 10 years ago. For this reason other facilities like broad band internet and such are top notch as well. So when you said our house is outdated I must assume you meant the furniture. Indeed, most of it has been used for many years. Because of the heavy wooden materials however it should be good for another number of years, if not decades. There is not anything modern about it, but it gives the house a timeless Mexican rustic vibe that I personally quite enjoy. It may not be your taste of course. Electrical devices are replaced when broken, so that is why some are newer than others. One of the AC's is only a few months old for example. Just the two upstairs bedrooms are equipped with them because an AC can be really necessary there sometimes, especially in the summer. The bedroom downstairs is always cool enough with just the ceiling fan. We have hosted big families many times and never have received any complaints about this. The same goes for the dogs, I have not heard anybody mentioning them before either. But in all honesty, I have heard the dogs! :) They never bothered me however. They bark only sometimes and when they do they get bored with it fairly quickly. Also, it's only noticable in the back of the house. You have to agree that for most part of the day and night the neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. This is one of the big advantages of a house outside of the city centre. You have a place to relax and the action is just a short drive by car/taxi away. I would say that 10 minutes on the average in traffic is a good estimation. Public transportation between downtown and the neighborhood itself is also readily available. The vans stop around the corner of our house and they are very affordable. A rental car is convenient, we usually get one ourselves, but it definitely is not a necessity. I think I have addressed all of the concerns you wrote about in your review. I apologize for the lenght of my reply, but you have learned from my emails already that I like to be thorough and use too many words in the process.: ) I was happy to hear you will keep our house in mind should you ever return to Playa.
