Pelagos holidays apartment has an extraordinary view over the Cretan Sea and the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside complements perfectly the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Platanias, centre of summer night life both for visitors and for residents of Chania.
A modern complex of two-level apartments, with verandas & balconies oriented towards the Cretan Sea, the Pelagos holiday apartment has been respectfully constructed to blend with the unique beauty of the Platanias rock and the traditional architecture of the area. The discreet furniture, the comfortable arrangement of room and the hospitality offered will make your stay a sheer pleasure.
How far we are?: From the apartments, a walk of less than 15min (500 m.) will take you to the sandy beach with clear blue waters (Blue Flag award) or else to the shops and the centre of Platanias.
Platanias is 12 km away from Chania (old Venetian port) and 32 km away from the airport or 19 km from the port of Souda, making Pelagos Holidays apartments an excellent starting point for visiting the island's natural beauties as well as its archaeological treasures.
Why Platanias?: Traditionally, the economy of Platanias was based in agriculture but during the last twenty years has turned increasingly to tourism.
The majority of the visitors are Scandinavians, who have introduced a pleasant, youthful as well as a family type of entertainment.
There are plenty of shops, services and activities in the village and in the wider area, so there is no chance to get bored.

“No WiFi - Beware”
If you like a long walk halfway up a steep hill after the beach, shopping or going out to eat where taxi drivers blank refuse to go, if you love the sound of dogs barking constantly - day and night, if you adore the smell of rotten flesh emanating from the fridge, if you are a fan of zero communication with the outside world and if you like to see keeping your children alive as a holiday challenge then you have discovered your true nirvana. First off, I have a little one who isn’t on this trip, the thought of him being with me when he was a toddler scares the life out of me, the stair banisters have gaping chasms dropping below and there is a sheer drop all around the apartments. Also keeping a kid amused where there is Netflix on every TV but not internet connection to make it work and no global channels, good luck with that and a kid!! One of the main reasons I booked this was WiFi was advertised (through HolidayLettings and confirmed on Pelagos website), there is poor WiFi outside and zero in the apartments, made several complaints and the reaction was basically ‘tough, there is WiFi on the balcony’, brilliant when I have to check work 24/7, my mobile data bill will be utterly astronomical due to a basic lie. Utterly no help from the in-denial owners. The fridge smells so bad we can’t keep food in there, its affecting the smell of the whole apartment, truly grim. You could say the dogs barking are out of the owners control but 2 of the main culprits are chained to the next property along, why not negotiate with the dog owners? I’ve had this problem at home and a conversation can go a long way to a resolution. The location is an utter nightmare for me, its up a steep hill and I guess this is an oversight on my behalf, I did some research but didn’t find out how steep until we got here. I have a spondylolisthesis of the spine so the walk was tough, made far worse as nearly all taxi drivers refuse to take you to the apartments, different excuses but it was unusual for a driver to agree to take us back. I would definitely never return here.
