Managed by 'Saint Basil Olive Grove - Rentavillacrete'
There are 2 bedrooms normally available sleeping 4 people, but 2 extra double or twin bedrooms can be made available for larger groups so you can sleep up to 8 people. The house has I full bathroom with shower above the bath and a second shower room/WC on the ground floor next to a further downstairs double bedroom.
The villa shares the Olive Grove with only 4 other villas (also owned by us) but is not overlooked by them so your privacy is protected. Unusually for Crete, there is at least 60 metres between each house, and separated by colour full private gardens. The olive grove is huge (4.5 acres, 17,000 sq metres) and is fully fenced and gated. The road to Almyrida has only light traffic during the day and occasional vehicles at night, yet you are never far from civilisation and the bustling cafe culture and nightlife of nearby villages.
Villa Helios is designed with comfortable double & twin bedrooms. It has a private swimming pool which is GATED to help with child safety.
Located in our St Basil Olive Grove, only 3 minutes drive from the beach at Almirida, on the Apokoronas Peninsular in North West Crete (35 minute drive from Chania Airport). Also nearby, only a 12 minute walk away, is the 1000-year old Greek village of Gavalochori with tavernas & shops.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: only a few steps up to house, (roll-up ramp available). Downstairs 2nd bathroom (professional commode/shower-seat available) and double bedroom with immediate flat access to patio and outside dining area overlooking the pool.

The house is also suitable for wheelchair users. There are only a couple of steps to negotiate from the gravel drive up to the house.. Downstairs double bedroom with shower room and W/C next to it. Each bedroom also has a private balcony with breathtaking views over open countryside

Thoughtfully designed and extremely comfortable, this house is one of only 5 exclusive properties on our private olive grove of 5 acres - all owned by us. Each benefits from being not directly overlooked - having beautiful colourful gardens among 200 olive trees and literally acres of outside space to explore. Villa Helios has a large patio area (fenced) which makes it ideal for poolside games.

The villa is situated in possibly the best location in Crete in that it is fare enough away from the villages to be quiet, yet close enough to enjoy all their facilities. Yes a car is defintely a good idea, if only to act as a shopping trolley to get your groceries! We recomend a local family-owned company - Autoclub - who have been supplying our guests for the past 15 years, they are reliable and reasonably priced.

We spent a lot of time with our architect to get the designs of our villas 'spot on' for families, one of the key points was to utilise potential 'dead' corridor space so we could have 4 comfortable bedrooms. Besides all the facilities on your doorstep, the villa is well placed for day trips to Lake Kournas (Crete's only freshwater lake) where you can hire boats and swim among the turtles; also some excellent tavernas high up in the mountains - where all the food is organic and locally grown - definitely worth a visit.

Response from the owner Hi Kevin and thanks for your review. We are pleased you liked the accommodation and location and we would like to address the issue of noise which you raised. Obviously different people have different tolerances of what they consider to be acceptable noise from neighbours, and we had two other families staying at our other villas, neither of which have mentioned that they were disturbed. However, that is not to dismiss your concerns. We do advertise our villas as family villas and they are each at least 80 metres apart which is unusual for villas built on the same plot. For the benefit of those reading this who do not know the area, 95% of holiday villas are almost literally within touching distance of each other where the potential for disturbances between holidaying families is quite large. The only way to guarantee no noise is to book a completely secluded villa but then this will have the disadvantage of not being within easy reach of tavernas, shops and certainly not the beach.
