Located just 2 minutes from the motorway exit, the property is the ideal base for art itineraries to Pisa, Lucca, Firenze, Volterra, San Gimignano, and Siena.
A car is not necessary!! Shops, restaurants and cafés are within walking distance, as well as a bus stop and a train station with direct trains for Pisa and Florence, and connections for the main cities of Tuscany.
For Vespa lovers : The property is a perfect accommodation for the Vespa World Days 18 to 21 April 2024! Pontedera is just a few minutes driving from the villa and there is free parking inside the property for your Vespa.
The apartment named "The ladies retreat" is on the first floor. It is given admittance through an astonishing monumental staircase and trough a delicious parlor where the frescoes on the walls and the ceiling simulate an open air terrace with country landscapes all around.
This apartment is named after the use it had in the past centuries: this was the part of the house where the ladies relaxed while talking, reading and playing music after their morning toilet. The remarkable and absolutely unique neoclassical frescoes in the delicate nuances of ivory color which are featured in the living room create a seductive atmosphere of great serenity. Besides the living room the apartment features a double bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom.
The villa benefits from a large garden with beautiful age-old trees.
Bicycles are available for guests, free of charge. Cafes and restaurants are at walking distance.
The sea is just 20 minutes driving.

“Impressive, very special and very clean.”
The apartment is located in an impressive old building that has inside the ambiance of a museum. The apartment itself is large and very, I repeat ,very clean.

“Lovely apartment in a wonderful villa near Pisa”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a pristine apartment in this ancient villa which is undergoing renovation in stages, and is a remarkable tribute to the owners. It was a delight to be there. The owners were kindness itself. As a small tip we would perhaps suggest taking or hiring a car. The buses and trains are not too far away; there were bikes available for our use; the owners kindly took us to and from the airport, and were very kind in driving us on other occasions; but it would be an advantage to have one's own vehicle to get around, perhaps to explore the hills. Having said that we had no trouble going to Florence, Pisa, Casina, and Lucca, all by public transport, which we found very convenient when visiting these lovely cities.

“A warm welcome, ideal location and quintessentially Italian villa - buonissima!”
Donatella and Antonio were very generous hosts; welcoming us into their home and always happy to put themselves out to help. The location was perfect for exploring Tuscony, either by car or by train from the nearby station. This was our first visit to this part of Italy and it has everything that one could want in a holiday - culture, beautiful beaches, excellent cuisine... Both Pisa and Florence are wonderful. The villa is so typical of the houses in Italy - lots of space with most beautiful frescoes on the walls and ceilings - but the appartment was modern and well equipped.

“A beautiful place to stay - totally different”
The attention to detail that Antonio and Donatella have given to the appartment was excellent. We both enjoyed admiring the frescos on the wall whilst having breakfast. The stone wall structure of the building ensured that it was always cool within the appartment which was great when trying to sleep. We had a bike ride around the local area, which we both enjoyed. Trains into Pisa depart every 50-80 minutes, into the main train station, then its a very pleasent stroll through the old streets of Pisa to the main sights.
