Sleeping 3 + 2. Riverside. WIFI. A beautifully renovated detached watermill, with private pool, situated in a wonderful garden bordered by a trout stream. The cosy house boasts original chestnut beamed ceilings, and terracotta tiled floors, along with an open fire.This is a wonderfully romantic place.
Downstairs is entirely open plan with living area with fireplace, a dining area with seating for five, leading to kitchen with oven, microwave, hob, fridge, small dishwasher and washing machine. Double sofa bed. There is open fire, as well as central heating making the house ideal for out of season use/romantic evenings in. A stereo, satellite TV, and DVD is also provided. WIFI.
Option to hire SKY sports, movie and children's package for E25 per week. Let us know on booking to check availability.
Wood provided free of charge, but heating payable locally. Upstairs the exposed stone walled, double bedroom is situated in a galleried landing area, which also has a single sofa bed. The double bedroom then leads into the single bedroom, from which the shower room is reached.Outside, there is an extensive garden (500 sq m), bordered by the river, with plenty of space for dining al fresco, and enjoying refreshing country views.
The BBQ is provided. Less than a one minute walk is the river which is perfect for swimming and fishing, a fantastic riverside retreat!The Mill boasts a private pool of 9M x 4.5M. Cot & highchair available on request. English speaking representative available throughout your stay. Welcome pack available on request. The owners/locals are likely to visit regularly with locally grown produce as gifts!
A little about location:
Filicaia is a small village situated in the hills, less than a 10 minute drive from Castelnuovo (45 minutes North of Lucca). The house is situated outside of the village, beside a trout stream/river, which is suitable for fishing, paddling and swimming. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, and the property is within reach of Lucca, Pisa, Florence, and the Coast. Castelnuovo, with its outdoor swimming pool, famous market, and numerous bars & restaurants is only 4 kms away.
TOURIST TAX - Do note that there is a local stay tax applicable at €1 per person per night, up to a maximum of 5 nights. This does not apply to children under 14.

“Delightful property”
We spent 5 days at this converted water mill and were very pleased with our stay. It is well situated in a peaceful location with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. We particularly liked the swimming pool in the garden and also the very nearby river swimming. The cottage was well equipped and had sitting areas all around with sun or shade. We would most certainly stay here again. It is in a beautiful area of northern Tuscany and well worth visiting.

A very nice house, your own swimmimg pool, nice garden, great when the wether is good. The road to the house is a little bit steep.
