The home, with 3 bathrooms, is surrounded by the heather clad hills of the Morrone Conservation area where golden eagles and sea eagles soar and red and roe deer regularly frequent hence the house name. We also have regular visits from our resident red squirrels and Spotted Woodpeckers and various other birdlife.

Only weekly lets, including all linen, electricity, central heating and logs for the woodburner are from Saturday to Saturday for up to eleven people, with two double en suite bedrooms, a twin bedroom, a double and bunk bedroom and a family bath/shower room . Entry to the house is via a large fitted bench boot room into an open plan kitchen sitting dining room ( with stepped access from two side doors to the patio for bbq's and garden) and leading to the sun room with the utility room including tumble dryer, completing the accommodation. Mobile signal is 4G with Vodaphone best, but 6 meg WiFi is installed. There is also USB charging facilities on some sockets(bring your own cable).

Guests are welcome to use the hard court, vicarage tennis only! Bicycles and the table tennis table in the garage and the range of 4 individual outdoor dog kennels, leaving them clean, as no pets are allowed in the house.

Asda, Tescos & Sainsburys deliver to us online, only orders with alcohol need signing for, specify deliver to the kennels, if not going to be in, but there is a full range of shops in the village (butcher co op pharmacy).

Nearby places of interest and amenities include: Balmoral and Braemar Castles, Crathes and Drum castles and gardens are strongly recommended, Mar Lodge with its stags head ballroom, Glenshee ski area, Braemar golf course (the highest in UK) , Glen Tanar Estate with riding & trekking. “Very good place for our needs. 3 showers and 4 bedrooms”

Reviewed 17 May 2019

I booked this place for 6 people and it filled our needs. BUT, there were one or two downsides. A shower was leaking into the adjacent bedroom, which meant that one of the group had to sleep on a sofa in the living room!! One of the showers was running hot and cold while a shower was in progress. The hot was scalding!! Another shower had to have a pair of pliers to turn it on!! The last problem was when we came back from our days outing there was a maintenance man in the house. I was fuming. I asked him who let him in and he said he had a key and the cleaners gave him permission!!!! I was NOT notified they were coming. We had things laying about thinking that the place was safe and secure.
