Feel Safe. Get away from it all to a wonderful comfortable Cottage (all mod cons) on our working hill sheep farm. Green Business Gold Award. New during 2021: 17 new Solar Panels to join the Solar Thermal Tubes on Elspinhope Cottage + a 10kg battery. Wheelchair Access. Ancestral Tourism member. Walkers & Cyclists Welcome Scheme. Free Fast Internet.
All T.V. Streaming Services available with own passwords.
Dark Sky - No Light Pollution. Linen included. Towels for hire if required.

Comfort in a stunning location on our 1,400 acre farm. A wonderfully secluded position with privacy and beautiful views. Easy car access to the door, large parking area, garden & grounds including 3-acres of woodland and paths by the cottage & the Cossarshill Burn with rocky pools & a lovely waterfall.
Mammals recorded locally include Otters, Red Squirrels, Badgers, Foxes, Brown Hares, & Deer. There are species of rare butterflies (Scotch Argus), moths, and a huge range of birds including Osprey, Golden Eagle, Black Grouse, Barn Owls, Dippers, Lapwings and Peregrine. We are close to "The Ettrick Marshes Project". Parts of both "The Nature of Britain" and "Autumn Watch 2007" were filmed by Ettrick Water, on our farm close to Elspinhope Cottage.
An excellent base for hillwalking, fishing, golf, riding, mountain biking (Glentress & Innerleithen), cycling and many other activities including Go Ape.
Electric Mountain Bike hire nearby. Good independent shops in all local towns, excellent Butchers & Bakers. Local Cafe / Shop.
The area is steeped in History, visit some of the Borders Stately Homes & Gardens, Abbeys, Churches, & Keep Towers. Follow the Borders Woollen Trail or explore Eskadalemuir Forest, Ancient Standing Stones and Samye Ling Tibetan Centre which are within easy reach, as well as St. Mary's Loch, The Grey Mare's Tail and Moffat. The James Hogg Exhibition (celebrated Scottish writer) is a walk away. Edinburgh (45 miles) is an easy journey for a day out.
