“Excellent Condo for the Money”
When we reserved the condo we got three very informative emails in reply letting us know about check in-check out procedures, nearby restaurants, car rentals, activities in Maui, etc., so that was very helpful. When we got there we found the condo very clean with plenty of comfortable furnishings. There is no A/C but we found that if we opened the windows and turned on the fans in the evenings, the condo stayed very comfortable. It did not get too hot in the middle of the day. Kevin's policy of marking refrigerator items with the date of purchase is brilliant and renters to save on the cost of condiments and other little items. The pantry was full of staples too, so if you forgot to get something at the store, you will likely find it in the cupboard! Kevin keeps the bathroom medicine cabinet, linen closet and bedroom closets stocked with everything else you may need - boogie boards, sand toys, snorkel equipment, pool noodles, laundry detergent, bleach, bandages, antibacterial ointment, sunscreen, linens, beach towels, duct tape, you name it! The only thing we needed but couldn't find was a pair of scissors, but we got by! FYI, there is no dishwasher, so you will have to wash the dishes by hand. The location is very nice. It is in a part of town where you can walk to restaurants, a natural (but vegetarian) market, coffee shop, shave ice store, surf shop, etc. Plus it is a bout a 5-10 minute drive north of Lahaina if you need more in terms of shops and restaurants. Lahaina is also a prime spot for surf and paddleboard lessons and for hiring a boat for deep sea fishing, among other activities. The condo is also right across the street from a nice, well-used (by locals and tourists alike) park and beach. The surf doesn't get real big here, so it was a perfect boogie boarding location for our 10 year old, and a nice fishing location for our 14 year old. Plus, BONUS PART, a sea turtle hung out with us one afternoon, eating whatever grows on the rocks just off shore and swimming around our ankles.
“Fantastic, Highly Recommended!”
Kevin was so welcoming and attentive to detail from the moment I made my reservation that the whole process from reserving to checking out couldn't have been easier. Kevin gave several personal recommendations prior to checking in and once we were settled he called with some additional pro-tips. Just a really thoughtful guy. The condo is nicely situated with tasteful decor and plenty of room, although we didn't stay in much with so much natural beauty to see on the island! The ocean is just across the street, but it didn't look like an ideal spot for swimming to me. It was lovely to sit and watch the sunset and I imagine it would be a great location to bbq and eat as well. The location is perfect if you are looking to visit around the west side of the island. We took the road up the coast as well as to and from Lahaina several times with no problem; and there are several nice park/beach areas along these routes as well. I recommend this property without reservation - it was a great experience!
“25th anniversary in Maui”
Honokowai Palms is just what we needed for our 25th anniversary. Comfortable, convenient, full of amenities, and clean. The information provided was a tremendous help to make our stay both enjoyable and also more affordable. We loved staying in a condo that had it all from appliances to beach gear. The location was just right...next to a wonderful farmers market and coffee shop. 5 minutes from awesome shopping, restaurants, and beaches. The park right across the street is perfect for families to enjoy swimming, snorkeling, viewing turtles or just relaxing on the beach or in the grass. There are plenty of places within walking distance for meals, spa treatments or shopping. What ever your schedule might be, there are suggestions for the best places to go across the island. The books on Maui really helped find hiking spots and sight seeing locations. The condo is right in between to big resort locations, but feels like your home town with where its situated. One of the best beaches that is a cove is right up the road north in Napili for board activities, family outings and even has 2 restaurants. The owners of the condo thought of everything to make the best of your time on the island without breaking the bank. My wife and I couldn't have had a better time even in the big resorts because we were in charge and our parking spot was right in front of the door. Remeber to take time to just relax and lay on the beach, coffee in the morning and/or drinks in the afternoon were awesome on the beach right in the park 100yds from the condo. Don't pass up the volcano, Whaler's village (good shopping, beach area and eateries on the beach with live music), Front Street in Lahaina and Honolua Bay. Parking is the only challenge around the island, look for blue beach access signs, the open areas on the side of the roads, or just ask the locals and condo owners. The only way you can't have a good time is if you turn on the TV and sit on the couch all day! Enjoy Maui!
“Convenient and affordable”
This condo was ideally arranged for feeding a family a meal or two each day to keep down costs. The condo had all the basic necessities plus other helpful items like kick boards, chairs, beach towels, and snorkels-masks. Being able to park right out front meant we were in the van on on the beach without wasting much time. It was also great to be able to do laundry, so that we could pack light. The condo was clean and well-maintained. The park across the street was a great place for watching the sunset. Great coffee and a farmers markets steps away also was a real treat.
“Perfect location for us to enjoy lots of great beaches.”
My husband and I took our son and his friends who had just graduated high school. They loved the accesability to the great beaches for surfing, skim boarding and body surfing. B5 had a comfortable "beach" kind of feel... not high luxury, but practical comfort. Comfortable beds, lots of nice clean towels and linens. Kitchen fully equipped with everything we needed to cook for a large group. The farmers market and coffee shop next door were a real treat. Great location, for the best beaches (Right between Kanipaali up to Napili and close to Lahaina (best town on Maui). Trip around the north end was so easy and fun from here. The blowhole is amazing. Would stay there again and again and we will tell other people about it too. Best deal in town!
“Fantastic Condo, Location, Beach, Beach Park, & Farmers Market”
Home away from Home definitely. Fully furnished home in a superb location. 40 Yards to Beach Park and only 70 yards to Ocean. Our children loved the playground equipment, swings, the protected beach, and the Condo Pool. We barbecued out most nights at the condo and the Beach Park right on the ocean edge. Fantastic Sunsets. The Farmers Market next door has fantastic local fruits, vegetables, cheeses, dips, breads, jams etc.. and almost all organic. Plenty of reasonable places nearby to eat. Times Supermarket nearby and the Farmers Market store almost next door. We are definitely coming back again.
