The Villa has been fully restored and modernized, while we kept its historic character. It is listed in the directory of historic properties in Italy. It offers stunning views of the villages and mountains in the area. Villa della Rocca is ideal for a holiday to visit Lucca and its surroundings; walking, hiking and biking; discovering the amazing natural parks and historic villages of the area; wine-tasting tours and baths (terme); exploring the marble mountains, Cinque Terre and the Ligurian sea; and all the while experiencing the life of the local community.
Your kids can play in the two gardens, one with the pool or play football on the street or the piazza as there is no traffic, no rush, no worries. Everybody is kind, you will feel welcome even if you cant speak Italian.
Have your own home for a a week or more in Italy. The house will not be crowded even when fully occupied. It is ideal for a family vacation, holiday with friends or retreats for special occasions. This villa is in the historic center of one of the most picturesque medieval small towns of Italy (i borghi piu belli d'Italia), surrounded by the majestic mountains of Northern Tuscany. The house is special even among similar villas in the area as it offers large, light spaces which are at the same time private and intimate. With four spacious en-suite apartments on three floors, two kitchens and two gardens, there is ample space to dine and wine with a bigger company and to retire for some reading or quiet time.

“Amazing”
We had a great time. The villa was fully equipped and nothing was too much trouble for the owner to organise for us. He even replaced a sunbed and bought new while we were there. All his advise on where to eat, shop and visit was spot on. Look forward to returning

“Lovely villa in beautiful Tuscan hill town, perfect for groups”
Villa Della Rocca is a fantastic place for a group holiday. 11 of us stayed for a week in July 2017 and we had an incredible time. The villa is spread over 3 floors, with two large and well-stocked kitchens and plenty of en suite bathrooms. There's a nice outdoor terrace with a dining table and the biggest rosemary bush I have ever seen. The villa itself is good, but it's even better as way to explore the town and surrounding area. Coreglia Antelminelli is a beautifully-preserved Tuscan hill town with incredible views over the surrounding mountains. There are a few decent restaurants, some bars and a medieval church. Within reasonable driving distance you can get to the walled town of Lucca or the Candalla waterfalls for a day trip. The hills surrounding Coreglia are great for walking or mountain biking, we just wish we had done more if it. I can't praise our host, Balazs, highly enough. He was friendly, quick to respond to messages and full of suggestions for things to do whenever we asked. Would definitely recommend booking with him, and would visit again.
