“Beautiful”

Reviewed 27 Feb 2015

What a beautiful cabin! Large windows, great amenities, clean and the perfect size for 2 people and a dog. Plenty of seating for guests if desired. Right now I'm watching the sun rise over the lake.

Response from the owner Thanks Brenda - yes a nice place to watch the sun rise in the winter! Hope to have you back soon! Rick

“Wonderfully comfortable home away in the Northwoods”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2014

5 minutes is all it took to appreciate the attention to detail Rick put into this place. Small but very accommodating place that provided exactly the type of inviting warmth in virtual solitude we were seeking. Perfectly equipped to stay in and cook meals, relax by the fire and listen to music. Our canine companion had the freedom to run and explore while walking the property/neighborhood. Never felt like the cabin was lacking anything. The lighted trees created a wonderful ambiance at the end of the day. Overall, a perfect retreat for couples and we will be back to explore in the summer.

Response from the owner Thanks much! Glad you enjoyed! Return guests receive a complimentary bottle of champagne :-)

“Warm and inviting with attention to detail”

The communication was great, and we loved it from the moment we arrived. We were looking for something quiet, and we found it! We didn't see any neighbors the entire time we were there, only a couple of woodpeckers :) Brilliant. The cabin was clean, and beautiful, just outside of Bayfield. Everything was there for us to use, kitchen supplies to cook with and games for down time. We had some trouble getting the movies to work, but in the end we decided this was best...we could do that at home! We hope to come back in the fall for the beautiful colors and some time on the lake. While there we spent time in Bayfield. Went hiking and snowshoeing (thanks to snow shoes provided) and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. Wish we couldve stayed longer. I cant comment on the wood-burning stove because it wasnt yet in when we were there, but Im sure it is wonderful!

Response from the owner Thanks much! I enjoy giving people everything they need to make their experience as relaxing as possible :-)

“Relaxing stay in the north woods”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2014

Rick's beautiful cabin in the woods was the perfect holiday getaway for us. We hunkered down over a few brutally cold days and simply snuggled up, read books, watched movies and loved every second of it. We also took out the snowshoes and were amazed at the beautiful sights and sounds surrounding the cabin area. We were able to snowshoe through a few feet of snow with ease and had a blast doing so. The cabin's interior was recently renovated and is absolutely gorgeous; with easy to use tech gear and gadgets we were absolutely set for an amazing stay! Highly recommended.

Response from the owner Thanks much! Glad you loved it!

“Relaxing!”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2013

We had a great time at Hauser's cabin. It was secluded and quiet. Our dog loved taking walks on the back roads and sniffing for bears. The cabin was very clean and nicely updated. We enjoyed sitting in the cabin at night, drinking wine and listening to music. I'd recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away from city life!

Response from the owner Thanks Karissa! I'm bringing up a smart (apps - Youtube, FB, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc.) high resolution LED flat screen TV this week to replace the Sony in the bedroom. And a very coo looking new wood stove going in in the next few months with hearth area made with quartz in the colors of the walls.. That is my favorite thing to do there... kick back on the sofa with some wine - look out at nature, and listen to my favorite Pandora and Sirius stations on the nice sound system.. Hope to have you back again soon! Rick

“Wonderful, relaxing get away!”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2013

Loved the cozy, beautiful decor and the tv is not in the living room. The drive in was beautiful (peak fall colors). I also liked the fact that I did not have cell service. (I have Verizon) I needed to be "off grid" as far as that goes! There is a hard line phone on site for emergencies, if I remember correctly. We were only there 1 night but would love to go back for a longer period!

Response from the owner Thanks Cynthia. Yes - no room for a TV in the living room. I'm bringing up a smart (apps - Youtube, FB, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc.) high resolution LED flat screen TV this week to replace the Sony in the bedroom. Nothing like "TV mode" on the remote on the bed to watch movies (or Zero Gravity mode) I designed the living room for people to talk/play games / read the area books I provide & relate to each other & enjoy the views of nature - vs watch a boob tube - which I guess you enjoyed :-). Yep - no ATT or Verizon etc! Yes - hard line phone allows people to dial 911 if needed or have friends call them on the inbound number - and they can dial outbound with Skype via the free Wifi. Hope to have you back again soon!

“Private cozy getaway”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

This Is a peaceful getaway in the woods While still providing an elegant stay. I found the lack of cell service a plus and a great opportunity to leave the world behind. The ability to connect Internet still offered you the opportunity to watch TV on Netflix Or complete any other work-related activities that may need to be done online. The Internet connection was adequate for me to complete research for school and submit online assignments. The only suggestion I could offer is moving the TV into the living room as the only one is located in the bedroom. This would allow for people to sleep in and others to be able to access the television. However, it is a getaway and perhaps TV is not the priority. Location is great With easy access to Bayfield and activities there. The ability to bring along the dog was a definite plus.

Response from the owner Thanks Amy -- I'm bringing up a smart (apps - Youtube, FB, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc.) high resolution LED flat screen TV this week to replace the Sony in the bedroom. I enjoy using "TV mode" (or Zero Gravity mode) on the bed remote control -- to watch movies. I designed the living room for people to talk/play the board games / backgammon / dominos / cards etc. and read the area books (4 recently added) and relate to each other & enjoy the views of nature - vs watch a TV - but I'll try to see if I can be creative and figure out where I could put another one in the living room... to maybe have two there... Rick

“Perfect cozy cabin in the woods”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2013

This was a wonderful surprise. The cabin is nicer than the web site can possibly explain. The attention to all the little details like the lighting, the comfortable bed, the finest quality kitchen cabinets, the granite counter, the beautiful woodwork and so much more. It is so quiet, peaceful and serene. The kitchen is well stocked and everything is convenient. Hope to make this an annual trip.

Response from the owner Thanks Dennis! Hope to have you back soon! I don't think a Ritz Carleton has a Serta IComfort Savant with remote control with Zero Gravity mode or 3 levels of massage/vibration! Have to stay ahead of them :-) Rick

Quiet repose. Accepts and welcomes dogs. Beach was inaccessible. Too much rain.

Response from the owner Hopefully there will be less rain next year! Hope to see you back soon! Rick

“Beautiful cabin in a wonderful setting.”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2013

Hauser's Bayfield cabin is a true gem. The cabin is well appointed while still providing for a "getting away from it all" experience. The cabin has wifi and a geothermal climate control system, which was essential during our visit as it was quite hot and muggy a couple of the days we were there. The location is ideal for exploring all of the local sites, including Cornucopia (which has a great museum well worth a visit), several beaches, hiking, Bayfield, the numerous orchards/wineries and the apostle islands. One on the best perks of the place is that dogs are allowed. That being said, Hauser's would also be ideal for those with-out dogs as well, as it is kept immaculately clean. Rick Hauser was very accommodating in setting up the reservation and sent a follow up e-mail to ensure our stay was pleasant. This place is fantastic.

Response from the owner Thanks for the kind words Daniel. Hope to have you back again soon! Rick
