“Fantastic Location & Equipment.”
We stayed in this apartment for 2 weeks as part of our honeymoon. It really is beautifully equipped - a real home from home. It is perfectly located for the beach and the bars & restauraunts of State St. I'm already missing our breakfasts on the deck and cannot wait to return.
Loved staying in the spacious Papa Dux, the interior was so stylish and we were able to kick back and relax in a most beautiful space after an 11hr flight. Everything worked well and Inga was very professional and generous. I would stay here over and over again perfect location, great bikes and a cosy stylish space.
“Santa Barbara Downtown Hideaway”
I had a wonderful stay at Papa Dux. The apartment is lovely and comfortable. It lives up to the pictures. The best thing about it is the location, it is one block off of State Street the main downtown street in Old Santa Barbara. There are many restaurants and theatres within easy walking distance. The electric trolly also travels State Street to the Wharf. It is very convient location and has off-street parking within a high encloure wall for security of your auto. The owner and manager were wonderful to work with meeting my needs and requests.
“Everything you need”
Our upstairs apt had it all. It is really close to town and the beach. It was pretty noisy on Sat and Sun eve, but if you keep the windows closed this is not an issue. Bring your gear and relax on the outdoor deck which is a very nice treat to have your own outside space.
Just back from our second stay here and we will be back for a third stay next year. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in SB. The apartment is warm, light, comfortable, well equipped with a super terrace with BBQ and fire pit looking towards the mountains. It needs to be because we come from England for a month and need our home comforts! It is so well located and with the added bonus of off street parking and the provision of bicycles we hardly need the car. Cycling to breakfast on the beach and strolling to dinner just a block away on State Street is the perfect route to relaxation. Laura is a very welcoming and accommodating host and nothing is ever too much trouble. If you want to make the most of stunning SB this should be your first choice. We look forward to our next stay in our second home from home.
“Cozy, clean, and close to everything”
This was a great little place that was well appointed, well managed, and close to beach and shopping. If you are looking for a cozy quaint Santa Barbara experience, this is a great option.
“Loved our Stay!”
Great bungalow with the best location in Santa Barbara. We stayed for a month and the house had all the ameneties you could need. Spacious enough for my family. There is a nice deck overlooking the mountains, private yard and parking. The location is perfect. Only one block to State Street with all of the restaurants/shops and maybe five blocks to the beach. The owner and property manager were both very accessible and helpful. We loved Santa Barbara and would stay again!
“Gracious Hospitality in Paradise”
Came to SB for a quick and relaxing getaway. I was looking for a pet-friendly place for our sweet old dog and found Pap Dux on-line. The place was perfect in so many ways - location is one block from State Street and just a few from the ocean. Around the corner is the Urban Wine Trail. The beautiful upstairs apartment had a fully-equipped kitchen (Inga even supplied the coffee and creamer!) and after a full day of wine-tasting we used the outdoor BBQ to cook up some salmon and enjoy the amazing view from the balcony. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Can't thank Inga and Laura enough for the amazing hospitality - some slight construction noise next door bothered them more than it bothered us and they more than made up for any even slight inconvenience by providing a deep discount. Will definitely come back again. At full price this is still an amazing value. Thanks to Inga and Laura for such a great experience!
“Happy week in Santa Barbara”
Laura welcomed us and could not do enough. Even went and bought a kettle for the mad British tea makers. The apartment is sunny and cheerful with a well equipped kitchen. Everything is within walking distance. The balcony is a huge bonus with a lovely view of the mountains and it is surprisingly quiet for such a central spot.We would have liked some more comfortable sun loungers for our siestas as we had tired legs from all the sightseeing. There is so much to do and see and the bikes came in very handy. It was great to walk out straight into the action yet have a peaceful spot to come home to. Don't miss the lovely little zoo,an easy bike ride away, and we loved the botanical gardens.
“A nice place to visit but I want to live there!”
A great value in a location that allows you to walk or ride the provided beach bikes to most locations. Easy to deal with renters with great communication and support. A few items needed updating but not a major distraction.
