Description

This fine three-story Adirondack home is situated just two hundred yards from Mirror Lake in the heart of Lake Placid, New York. The antique-filled house is surrounded by scenic views of the mountains and lake and is just minutes away from the many shops, restaurants and entertainment spots that line Main Street.

This is a great family home right in the village and just a minute's walk to Mirror Lake and Main Street with its many shops, restaurants and attractions. The Olympic Center, ice rink and public beach are about 6/10 of a mile (about a 15 to 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive) away and the movie theater is about a 5-minute walk away. In the winter there are dog sled rides at the foot of the hill and a free shuttle to Whiteface Mountain a block away. The house has 4 bedrooms, a pull-out sleeper sofa in den and 3 full baths. We can comfortably accommodate 10 people.

Everything is included: all linens, blankets and towels, full kitchen with dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, coffee pot, blender and toaster, washer and dryer, gas grill, fireplace with firewood, free Wi-Fi, two TV's, DVD-, CD- and VCR-players, even plenty of books and puzzles for quieter moments. The house is over 100 years old and has been our family home for almost 60 years. Our previous renters have loved the warm and comfortable atmosphere and the wonderful location.

There are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance, but the nice thing about renting a vacation home is how much you can save on meals by cooking at home (but not all the time….after all, this should be vacation!). There is also plenty of room to spread out in our home.

Step back in time and relax in our historic, warm and comfortable home.

NOTICE: Please remember that this is our family home and not a "party house". We respectfully ask all groups looking for such a rental to look for another property. Our neighbors' lives should not be disrupted by our guests' noise or activities. Also, this house is 110 years old so we strictly limit the number of guests (please check bed arrangements on listing to make sure they will meet your needs).

Please note: For Ironman, a 7 night minimum is required at $750 per night. For the 70.3 half-Ironman, a three night minimum stay is required at $515 per night.

The furnace is brand new, but when it gets that cold the radiators on the third floor sometimes need to have the condensation released...fortunately an easy fix once it's been reported.
