“Waiohuli Beach Hale”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2013

We visit Hawaii (Maui specifically) at least once a year since we have family here. We'll actually stay twice this year (coming back in November) and we're booked in WBH already. Since we discovered Waiohuli Beach Hale (WBH) 7 or 8 years ago, we have made it a point to stay here ever since and we have never been disappointed. We stay at a different Unit each time and each Unit have each own unique qualities. One may not have the best view, but the amenities in the Unit make up for what is not as spectacular. WB 223 awesome view is breathtaking and probably the best one we have stayed in - but it was lacking a few things that would have been helpful (like a small non-stick frying pan to cook eggs in the morning and a corresponding spatula) but its not a big deal. That's just the way it is. I am sure it can be fixed easily if somebody cares to fix it. The one common failure I have noticed through every Unit we have stayed in, is the internet connection. The whole complex is very well taken care of and we are very happy with that - but the wifi connection needs a lot of improvement. Connection is spotty and sometimes it drops off or just suddenly slows down like molasses. This is hard since I need to be connected with work while I am here. In short, we love WBH because I think the people who run/own/use it love it too. I hope it continues to stay that way and keep improving where they can because we expect to keep coming back. Thank you for listening.

“The view... sigh, the view”

We stayed on Maui for a week and really enjoyed the central location and ocean view from this property. It's big and comfortable enough for two people and the updates to the unit did not go unnoticed. Would definitely stay again if we were lucky enough to come back!

“condo with a cottage atmosphere”

Reviewed 1 May 2013

We have used Rentals Maui a number of times and appreciate their friendly and effective service. Waiohuli Beach Hale is a small, beach front condo complex and its units have a cottage feel to them. Charlie Young Beach is lovely for strolling, but not recommended for swimming. The evening view of sunsets on or about the isle of Lana'i are romantic classics. We were located beside the pool which is a good size and my wife enjoyed swimming lengths. At four and a half feet deep it was used mainly for social recreation. We enjoyed the sounds of family fun and socializing from there and the nearby BBQ and shuffleboard area. In our experience the main sounds later in the evening, and early mornings, were birdsong or surf. That is, when the gardening crew were not up before breakfast with leaf blowers or mowing the lawn, mercifully not the rule. Unit #223 is adequately furnished, though the metal chairs throughout are not too comfortable, especially those on the lanai. We received a note of complaint for bringing out the unit's one comfortable chair to enjoy some time out from indoor heat and humidity. There is also a discomfort issue in the bedroom with the metal frame bed and a mattress which has gone beyond its expiry date. The bedroom a/c is noisy and effective only with the door closed. The kitchen on the other hand is modern and well-equipped. Unfortunately the previous tenants had accidentally destroyed the stove, but this was replaced very quickly - many thanks to the owners and management. There is a flat screen TV and stereo player; also beach chairs and boogie boards. However, the closet with beach stuff, cleaning hardware and towels was in need of cleaning and airing out. The bathroom is bright and clean. We liked the open shower - much like our home design - but surely there's a design flaw in having to stand under the shower to turn it on - refreshing dash of cold spray to some perhaps. Will we book into Waiohuli Beach Hale aga

“Spring Break at Waiohuli Beach Hale”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2013

Overall we had a very good time. The condo met most of our needs. Beach chairs and boogie boards were available but there were not enogh beach towels for a family of 4. It was necessary to ask for a replacement appliance (toaster) which was provided within a couple of days. The only our note was that renovations commenced in the condo next door to ours; the daytime noise levels made it impossible to stay in our condo for 2 days - allowing renovations during the high season is unfortunate and reflects poorly on the entire property.

Our first visit to Mauii was wonderful thanks to this great location and condo complex. Close to everything - ocean, beach, pool, groceries - all within a short walk. Not poshly furnished but comfortable with all the amenities we needed. We loved it.

“Waiohuli Beach Hale 223”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2013

This was our first trip to Maui and we found this property on the Internet so were not sure what to expect. We loved everything about the condo and the complex. The condo was spacious, spotless, and we cooked many meals in the very well equipped kitchen. There were so many extras provided - comfortable beach chairs, boogie boards, cleaning supplies, a good vacuum, the list goes on. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was large with plenty of lounge chairs. It was great to be able to grill on the outdoor barbecues. We loved the fact that the condo was very centrally located yet quiet with no street noise. The people, both owners and other guests, were so friendly and welcoming. Waiohuli Beach Hale and especially unit 223 would be my first choice for accommodations on any future trips to Maui.

“223 Waiohuli Beach Hale”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2013

We stayed in unit 223 from December 7-22, 2012 and had a wonderful vacation. We have stayed in Kihei many times but this was our first time at this complex. Unit 223 is a second floor unit close to the ocean end of the complex and right across from the pool. The unit is very well maintained and the kitchen was recently upgraded and is beautiful. The living room furniture was comfortable and there is a foamy for the pull-out couch/bed. The property is very well maintained and everyone was friendly. If I was going to be critical, the only thing I could complain about is the queen sized bed is older and a bit uncomfortable, a new King would be nice. The price was reasonable and we would definitely stay here again.

“223 needs a new bed, pillpws ans bedding. Otherwise very good.”

“Great stay for 2 people”

Reviewed 13 Nov 2012

What a great place to is one bedroom so for 4 adults would be a stretch...the couch in livingroom folds out to bed but it would be tight for 4 adults..very clean, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again..maybe a few suggestions, a cooler for day trips to beach, small beach chairs, beach mats (which we bought and left there) boogie boards, crib board and cards...just a few suggestions..but loved the place.
