Residence Il Monastero is in the small country of San Dalmazio (200 inhabitants). Its Medieval structure with alleys, tufa-made houses, a " Castellana" door and, a few step away, the archaelogic ruins (Rocca Sillana and Etruscan ruins) witness an ancient and glorious past. You can choose the tranquillity of Monastero to recharge ones energy away from the humdrum with our swimming-pools, our olive-grove. Typical dinner is possible. Otherwise You can explore the country by walking, cycling, horse riding, or by visiting neighbouring small countries.
Residence Il Monastero is located within 1 hour motoring of Florence, San Gimignano, Siena sandy beaches and within 20 minutes motoring of Volterra.

“Great place to stay”

We stayed here middle of September, really spacious apartment with a lovely swimming pool, well located for sight-seeing, tucked away in a little village. You need transport to be able to get the most out of Tuscany, and hiring a car in Italy can work out to be rather expensive, there are some beautiful walled towns to visit so a car is essential, couple of other guests were using it as a base and hiking but said that it was quite difficult to find good tracks.

“simple, clean & good value for money”

We stayed in this property for 6 night - we chose it because it was relatively cheap and offered a good location and good amenities in comparison to other places we considered. first and foremost the service and help with the booking was great and you do get exactly what is presented in the web site. the building and surroundings are wonderful - the pool is amazing, the view is classic Tuscany and the atmosphere is wonderful. the inside of the apartment is clean, and simple - the furniture is a bit old and not much effort was put into decorating. the kitchen is not well equipment - there are all the utensils but no soap, salt, oil or other basic things. you have to bring everything with you - but if you come ready it will be OK. the bathroom was clean but the shower is very small. the location is OK, on the maps it looks great but it is located on a one lane very winding road so the average speed you can go is 50km/hr. this means that to get to the highway it takes about 30-40 minuts. all in all we had a nice time and it was good value for money.
