Further details indoors
Of traditional design, the charming cottage has (March 2014) been extended and now provides 3 reception rooms including a new and well appointed and fully equipped kitchen/living room and a family bathroom/wc on the ground floor with an electric shower over the bath.. The wood-burning stove is a great focal point to the sitting-room and is perfect to relax in front of after a day's activities.
Upstairs are two comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin and another new bathroom/wc, with separate shower, on the first floor. The 2014 extension and the complete renovation works of the original cottage carried out in 2011 now afford a comfortable holiday home in this most idyllic location overlooking the River Dee and enjoying fabulous views to all sides.

“Fabulous location for exploring Deeside”
Central to all Deeside attractions. Lots of walks close by. Renovated part of the house very warm and comfortable. Downside was that not so great for kids or dogs due to being on main road. Also stairs to bedrooms bit tricky for less mobile people.

“beautiful cottage in a great location”
Located on the edge of Ballater, a beautiful little town with great amenities. Easy to visit Glenshee and the Lecht for skiing which was the purpose of our visit. We also enjoyed visiting Braemar which is close by. We would definitely visit again.

“Pet friendly cosy cottage in stunning Royal Deeside.”
Great location on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Easy drive to the Lecht and Glenshee ski areas. Ballater, Braemar and Balmoral on your doorstep. There is direct access to the Deeside Way from the path at the back of the cottage; fantastic for walking the dog or your daily run! We had a stunning night time walk back from the village (Ballater), with the pathway lit up by the 'Super Blue' Moon. Very special!

“Lovely Cottage, Unfortunate Mouse Infestation”
Arrived the day before New Years Eve, noticed mouse droppings straight away. Reported immediately to the owner, Gavin, who couldn't see a problem "part of living in the countryside". … More

Response from the owner I wasn't going to respond to this exaggerated and partly untrue review but have decided I should. Only to say that ( whilst accepting there was a mouse ) it could hardly be called an "infestation". It is interesting that the guests who arrived during the morning of this guest's arrival made no mention of any such problem nor have the subsequent guests (please see their reviews). I am relieved to read that this guest will not be returning.
