“Excellent location, spacious apartment.”

Reviewed 7 May 2014

Everything about the booking and check in process was well organised an efficient. The apartment had everything we needed. It is large, clean and well equipped. The location is fantastic. Walk to everything! Right in the heart of Grassmarket with great pubs etc. close to all transport and a quick walk to castle and the Royal Mile. We will definitely return!

“Excellent location and a flat that feels like home”

Reviewed 11 Nov 2013

This was a very comfortable flat from which to explore Edinburgh. It was right by the pubs and restaurants of the Grassmarket, about 5-10 minutes' walk from a Sainsbury's (grocery store), and close to the central train station and to buses that would take you anywhere you wanted to go. There's a lovely farmer's market about 10 minutes' walk away on Saturdays and lots of book and antique shops right in the neighbourhood. The National Gallery, Greyfriars, the castle and lots of other attractions are all nearby; there's also a fair bit of nightlife (catering mainly to the nearby uni students) if that's your thing, but even on a weekend night you didn't feel unsafe on the streets. The flat itself was very spacious, quiet, comfortable and clean. Loved the eat-in kitchen, though the cracked and loose kitchen floor tiles could stand replacement, and the lack of a mirror over the sink in the ensuite makes shaving difficult. Other than that, everything was fantastic.

“An Ideal Place To Explore Edinburgh”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2013

The apartment is ideally situated. All the interesting places are within easy reach. The apartment can sleep up to 6 persons without difficulty. It is well furnished with everything you need. The kitchen has every mod-con, dishwasher, washing machine and a hob with which you could cook 5-course meals without difficulty. The people at Edinburgh Self Catering are very friendly and helpful. A 5-minute walk to shops where you can buy food, drink etc.

“Excellent!!!”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2013

I stayed in the apartment with my family of 5 (3 grown up children) and had a very pleasant experience. The booking was easy and when I had a problem Dave was very helpful, and always with a smile. The apartment is spacious, very clean, well equipped and warm (Much appreciated in Edinburg)In the Grassmarket and five minutes walk to the Royal Mile and Edinburg Castle. Restaurants and convenience stores just across the street (Genaros has good Italian) Want to eat cheep and nice? Baked potatoes in 17 Jeffrey St, just off the Royal Mile, try the one with Haggis. A bit of adventure close by: climb to arthurs Chair

“Location, location, location!!”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2013

We stayed here for our visit to the Fringe and it was in the best possible location for accessing lots of venues and for feeling in the middle of the action. However it was fairly quiet when you were inside. The apartment is well furnished and equipped.

“It was okay”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2013

Location was good and as advertised. Condition of the property was average. Dave was short and to the point (all business), he was not overly pleasant.

“Great Location - spacious apartment”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2013

We enjoyed our visit to Edinburgh, and definitely appreciated the central location of this apartment. The apartment is spacious, although not very comfortable. Great for short, 2 or 3 day stay. It could use a little updating and could be quite comfortable with some upgraded furnishings.

“Outstanding!”

The only self catering company to use! Have used their accommodation on many occasions. They never fail to meet my high standards and expectations. Highly recommend.

“In the thick of things”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2013

My sister and I stayed for 4nights in this flat and enjoyed our stay. The apartment was impeccably clean and comfortable. The best thing is that we could walk to everything. It is right in the heart of the older part of town. Great restaurants museums and the castle all nearby. We were met by Dave who went out of his way to make sure everything was right. Had a great time, will use Edinburgh self-catering again and would ask to stay in the same place again. Try it--you'll like it :-)

“modern but remaining very Edinburgh”

Reviewed 4 Jun 2013

the booking was handled very efficiently and everything happened as it was supposed to. Dave was very helpful and the accommodation was really good. Plenty of space and very comfortable as well as being convenient for us as we were attending a wedding at Lothian Chambers as well as meeting relatives. The showers weren't up to the standard of the rest of the apartment unfortunately and it would have been good if there had been cleaning cloths in the kitchen. All in all, it was an excellent choice and I would certainly stay there again.
