“Experiencing both the historical and the young spirit of Edinbur”
Booking the apartment was well organized, check-in was easy and the host was very friendly and helpful. The home was beautiful and, suitable for two wanting to have separate bedrooms (although the sofa bed was not as good as promised). The kitchen had everything, even more. A minor disappointment was, that the two TVs were not working because of antenna problems - to see at least the weather forecast would have been useful in Edinburgh. The location was perfect for us, wanting to explore the history of Edinburgh and, to experience the city like a local, spending money in the record shops and relaxing in the pubs. The drawback of the local pubs, right under the apartment, was loud noise which disturbed the night´s sleep until 3-4 am. After all, we had a wonderful stay in Edinburgh.
“Couldn't have been better!”
I stayed for 5 weeks last March 2013. I am already planning my next stay here and considering staying at the same property because everything went perfectly, notably: quality furnishings, very comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels were always available, fully stocked kitchen (and I did a lot of cooking while there), great views from the kitchen and bedroom windows, everything I needed was within walking distance such as grocery stores, train station, restaurants, museums, etc., and most importantly friendly service any time I had questions or needed something, I got a reply within minutes and they even made up a bed for my overnight guests at no charge. The place was left immaculate at each refresh, I was very impressed with how clean everything was at all times (and I am a real clean freak!)! The neighbors were virtually invisible and I saw no kids my whole time there! I came here for peace and quiet and privacy to work on my computer programming and this was the perfect setting for me. I am looking forward to returning and even if I don't choose this property next time I am definitely staying with this rental company because they really earned my trust and made me feel very much at home for my 5 weeks there.
The apartment is well-situated in the heart of Edinburgh. The lettings agency are nice to deal with, and sent a very useful summary of restaurants etc beforehand, as well as helping carry the bags upstairs when we arrived and giving a good show-round. The apartment itself is lovely, comfortable, and well-equipped. The views of the street were pleasant, particularly with the Christmas lights up, and there was the added bonus of shutters which kept the light out and the heat in at night. The only downside was the drunks and binmen. We never did understand why they had to collect the rubbish in the middle of the night every night, but we soon got used to it!
Tremendous old style Edinburgh flat, immaculately furnished and decorated. The perfect location in Edinburgh for all activities.
Walk to everything. Comfortable. We saved up our laundry to use the washer. Were very disappointed to find there was no clothes dryer. And the washer was broken! I'm sure it's fixed now, but you have to dry your clothes on a rack. In all that rain and humidity? We felt we deserved a few pounds discount. But a great neighborhood and prime location.
Response from the manager It was unfortunate that the washing machine did breakdown but just like appliances in our homes they do from time to time in self catering properties and like in our homes it can take a few days to have them repaired. If I had been notified that I would have gladly paid for the cost of a launderette service. Subsequently the washing machine could not be repaired and the replacement machine is a combined washer/dryer.
“Great location, clean and nice!”
The flat if super-close to the castle, it was clean and perfect for our weekend in town. I would surely recommend.
“Feels like home”
Fantastic location, very nice apartment, good bed! Bathroom is not very big but for a few days it is oke! Very spacious living room
“A beautiful place to stay in a stunning city!”
This is a delightful flat filled with everything necessary to have a comfortable stay. Beautifully decorated and charming. We stayed a week in November and enjoyed relaxing each evening in the comfortable sitting room and watching the street traffic. Street noise at times may be an annoyance if you are a light sleeper but earplugs and the shutters block it out nicely. A must try is Oink across the street - they're hog roast rolls can't be beat!
“Nice central flat with impatient agent”
Flat is very modern, has everything one needs for a city trip and has a perfect location! It is situatated in the middle of the city just 5 min walk for the National museum and 3 min for the castle and High street. There are bars, restaurants and plenty of pubs around. I prefered the National Museum which is worth for visiting again and again and again... The flat is somewhere in the 3rd floor which is to take in mind for older travellers or guests with disability. However, there was some impoliteness of the agent. We arrived somewhere between 6:58 and 7:00 pm - as my mobile phone registered the time of the 2 second long lasting phone call which I made as I could not find the number and was simply staying in front of the building. Nonetheless, the agent made a claim for the unsocial time arrival payment which is due for arrivals after 7pm. He didn't simply say this in the beginning, when nobody was watching the time more precisely and might have seen that we arrived accourately at 7 pm - he made the claim after showing us arround and explaining every detail of the flat. Even if we where 1 minute late this behaviour made us feel most unwelcome and cheated.
“Estoy deseando volver”
