“We'll never more stay at another place in Paris”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2014

Each time we'll go to Paris, we'll reserve Maeggie's apartment and if it's already occupied, we'll change our vacation... Romantic, clean, spacious, quiet, beautiful, never change a winning place.

“Enchanted place in a great location”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2014

This beautiful apartment is located in a discrete complex of buildings surrounding a beautiful garden providing tranquility just a footstep away from rue Lepic (the pounding heart of Monmartre). We recently spent 6 nights in the place with our 2 kids and extremely enjoyed it. It was just perfect in terms of size - one big bed room with plenty of storage room and a wide living room with a sofa bed (very comfi) and a dining area and of course a kitchenette and bathroom (shower only - but a great one). Every thing beautifully decorated and lots of light and green views of the garden from the many windows surrounding it, which gives the place a great atmosphere. In the kitchenette you will find all amenities required including a washing Machine that functions as a dryer as well (how convenient). Maeggie is a wonderful hostess and kindly gave us an introduction tour to the area (with lots of excellent tips on shops and restaurants nearby). Before arriving to the place we were a bit concerned about needing to climb up the staircase with our 3 years old and his trolley but in reality it worked just fine (we left the trolley down stairs). It's only 2 floors up and compared to metro stations in Paris, it doesn't even count...

“A peaceful oasis in Paris”

Reviewed 29 Jan 2014

I have been visiting Paris for many years and have quite a lot of experience in renting apartments. Maeggie's is the best yet! I stayed for 9 nights at Maeggie's lovely apartment. She is very hospitable and welcomed me very warmly. When I needed advice, recommendations, she was always ready to help. I love the apartment-it has a spacious bedroom and a lovely and spacious living room and dining room. The kitchen is completely equipped with modern amenities: dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, stove, and refrigerator with ample space for supplies. I particularly liked the modern shower and bathroom-an unusual find in France. The bedroom has a queen size bed, very comfortable, a desk and a very good internet connection. Maeggie supplies plenty of linen. The location is ideal, close to three major Metro stops and on a number of bus lines direct to the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay. The shops on the rue Lepic are excellent and offer all I needed for meals. There are plenty of very good restaurants in the neighborhood. It is a pleasure to come home to the apartment which looks onto a garden and trees. There is lots of sun from all the large French windows. I have already booked for 2 weeks in June.

“Beautiful and quiet in Montmartre”

Reviewed 21 Jan 2014

We spent a terrific three night stay in this small, but very cosy and comfortable apartment in beautiful montmartre. The connections are really easy and the owner is very helpful. Everything you need is really close. We don't often go back to the samen place, but this one might be one of the few to do so. Great stay!

“We want to do it again”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2014

We stayed a month at Maeggie's apartment and it was perfect. The apartment was beautifully decorated, had every amenity including the best free Wi-Fi we have encountered on our travels and a comfortable bed. The apartment was spotlessly clean, quiet and had lovely light and garden views. After a hard day it was a pleasure to come home. The location was brilliant for all types of shopping and plenty of restaurants were within easy walking distance. With bus routes and two metro stations close by moving around Paris was effortless. While all the above is important for travellers what made our stay exceptional was Maeggie. She was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - we want to adopt her. When we return to Paris, this is where we will stay.

“Perfect stay in Montmartre”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2013

Wonferful location, beautiful apartment and gardens, a lovely landlady, who could ask for more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bedroom was large with a good bed. The wifi worked well. The layout of the apartment maximizes space to seem much larger than one expects. The kitchen is well equipped and worked well for food prep. The bath is newly done with a good shower. All supplies are plentiful. We will definitely stay again. The apartment has good access to both the abbesses and the Blanche metro stops. Rue Lepic has all the food shops we like. Restaurants are plentiful and some very good. The gardens are beautiful and serene, completely cut off from the city noise. The reception is exceptional because Maeggie, the owner is a marvelous hostess. She is quite available for any problem or question.

“Another wonderful stay in Montmartre”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2013

There is so much I can write about our stay here, all positive, but I will keep it short. We stayed here in 2011, fell in love with the apartment and the area. Decided to come back again in 2013 and see more of Paris. We were not disappointed again, and had a great stay again. You feel like a you are a local and live in Paris staying at Maeggie's apartment. The garden area is superb, apartment and location is perfect, and the Montmartre area is divine, heaps to do and see, easy access to transport, shops, and great eating spots. The little local shops in the area are amazing...you can spend days just looking...shopping...eating...and a few drinks...all without the extreme tourist rush or pressure elsewhere. You have everything you need in the apartment, and Maeggie was always available if we needed help with anything. Service was excellent...not one issue at all. Also, it was so quiet to come back to after a long day out and about...the apartment set up and layout is perfect, facilities and amenities great. Highly recommend staying here, we will return again as we feel this is the perfect stay and location. You feel part like you are part of Paris...loved it. You really do feel like you have been living in Paris for years, really do. What I didn't like...well, ...it was leaving...would have liked to stay longer, lots longer. Cheers Jeff

“Well-appointed apartment in private courtyard”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2013

Lovely apartment overlooking a leafy courtyard. Tall windows with plants in window boxes, well-appointed kitchen & bathroom, lovely modern furniture, books and maps thoughtfully provided. A courteous host. Steps from shops, restaurants, bakeries, and the Metro. We had not stayed in Montmartre before and this gave us a great base from which to explore. Nb. Not for those with mobility problems--there are steep steps to the apartment. And the people in the apartment nearby had quite loud parties. This was a secluded apartment but still part of a busy neighbourhood!

Response from the owner Dear Lisa, Thank you very much for your lovely review. I had great pleasure welcoming you and hope you keep a nice souvenir from your holidays. I am very sorry for the parties going while you stayed at the apartment. I can assure that this was very exceptional and did come from an apartment occupied temporarily by very young people. It should not happen any more. Normally all guests appreciate the peace and quietness of the apartment in this very private property with all the gardens. For the steps, it is indicated in all my communication that the apartment is on the second floor and has no elevator. If I feel, that it could be a problem, I always suggest to the guest to find an apartment with elevator and maybe not on the hill of Montmartre. I would be very happy to welcome you again and send you my best wishes. Maeggie Mailliet

“fantastic home away from home in the heart of paris”

we thoroughly enjoyed the location and remarkable hospitality shown to us. we stayed the first week of october and could not have liked it any more, will be back!

“We felt extremely welcome...almost like one of the family”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2013

Maeggie was the most thoughtful hostess. She welcomed us with champagne and smiles. The apartment was light and airy with great artworks and shutters that opened up onto a beautiful garden down below in the courtyard. She then proceeded to take us on a tour around the Monmartre area pointing out great bakeries, cafe's and bistros, fruit and veg vendors, a sensational jazz club across the road and many other places of interest and things to do. Based on her genuine care for our well being in Paris...we had the best time and it was sad when we bade farewell...We will be back to stay with Maeggie again and we will unreservedly recommend her to all our friends who decide to visit the romantic city. What we liked best was the fact that you were in the heart of the artists dream...Monmartre and everything was within walking distance, or an easy bus ride on No 30 or 74 to downtown Paris, the river, the Eiffel Tower, the arc de Triomfe, the Louvre and all the other wonderful sights of Paris...Thanks for a great holiday !!!
