“Beautiful Tuscan experience!!!!!”
I truly did not want to leave this charming and beautiful farmhouse!!! It's exactly what you picture a Tuscan house to be! From the antique decor, to the amazing patio and gardens!!!!! Everywhere you turn, there is another gorgeous garden! Nadia, the owner is a sweet and lovely woman and her love for this property shows! Her son came over one day and gave us tips on which towns to visit in Tuscany. We went to each one and loved them all!!! The home has a good central location for touring Tuscany and Umbria. We couldn't wait though to come back home after sight seeing to sit out and enjoy such gorgeous sunsets! I would absolutely stay at this house again. Thank you so much Nadia and we really hope to see you soon!!!!!
Response from the owner Thank you for the review! I hope to see you soon too :)
“I want to go back!!”
We enjoyed our week at Mulinmaria one thousand percent!! We were located in the countryside amongst the olive groves, but yet conveniently located nearby to Arezzo's stores and restaurants. We were also within driving and/or train distance to Pisa, Bologna, Siena, Firenze (Florence), Cortona, Venezia (Venice), and more. What a delight it was to see all of Italy's historical towns and countryside during the ride. But our favorite part was enjoying a glass of vine on our patio, looking down over the olive trees and vineyards onto the valley and distant hills. If you are there with your wine during a beautiful sunset, you will know why we chose Mulinmaria and will again. And, of course, the warm hospitality that we received was an added bonus.
Response from the owner Thank you very much for the great review! We hope to meet you back soon. Arianna, Nadia, Roberto and Nicola
“The Most Wonderful Place”
Words cannot describe my experience at Mulinmaria, but I will try... My original stay was in 2005 with my family. I was studying abroad in Florence, and my parents and siblings came to visit me. Instead of staying in the city, we opted for the country. My parents found Mulinmaria through their travel agent, and picked it primarily for its location. It truly is the ideal spot for easy access the Tuscan hill towns, as well as the larger cites such as Florence, Arezzo, and Siena. At the end of the day, after hours of walking around cobblestone streets and climbing hundreds of church steps, Mulinmaria served as a respite where we could relax, take in the earthy Tuscan air, and reflect on the beautiful memories we were making. On the second night of our stay, my parents hired Mulinmaria's owners, Nadia and Roberto, to cook for us. Roberto, a native Tuscan, grilled Val di Chiana steaks over an open flame, finished Tuscan style with coarse salt and rosemary. Nadia, a Bolognese-born Tuscan-transplant, baked pasta and prepared Ribolita (google it!), a Tuscan specialty. We were also treated to Nadia's freshly-baked focaccia and Roberto's homemade wine, as well as a number of vegetables that were picked that morning right outside the kitchen window. For dessert, Nadia baked a walnut cake and served us vin Santo. The meal was unforgettable. It was delicious and made with such love. At that dinner, we got to know Nadia and Roberto, and quickly learned that we were among truly special people. They are such incredibly welcoming, gracious, and generous people. Meeting the Rossi family is what truly made my stay at Mulinmaria so memorable. For me, staying at Mulinmaria was more than a vacation, it was an experience. It was an opportunity to get to know the Tuscan landscape and culture, to improve my Italian language, and to get in touch with a deeper sense of myself. I have since returned several times, and I know that Mulinmaria will always be special to me. I

“Heaven in Tuscany”
I can't say enough about this lovely villa and about the sweet owner, Nadia. We were two couples staying at Mulinmara and it was perfect. The bedrooms on the ground floor provide plenty of privacy. One bedroom has a bathroom en suite, the other has a bathroom just outside the door. Up a set of old stone steps you'll find the living room on the right and the wonderful kitchen on the left. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possible think of. We spent many evenings cooking in there with the windows open to the Tuscan sunset. Straight on from the stone staircase is the door leading to the terrace. The terrace is where we spent most of our time and what I miss most of Mulinmaria. It is surrounded by an olive grove and there are tables where you can sit and eat, drink, and enjoy sunset and sunrise. There is a little laundry room at the front of the villa which came in VERY handy during our 18 day trip to Italy. There is a garden in the back where we were allowed to take veggies for dinner. There is a foozball table just outside the 'master' bedroom. The villa is located in such that we were able to make day trips to Arezzo, Florence, Assisi, Siena, and Montepulciano. Overall, you will want and need for nothing if you choose Mulinmaria as your vacation home. It's truly wonderful, tranquil, and perfect.
Response from the owner Thank you very much. It was such a pleasure to have you at our place. I hope to see you soon again.Nadia
“Perfect spot for Girls Getaway!”
Finding a vacation spot that made 5 women happy is quite a feat! The situation of the home is utterly beautiful, in the middle of a working olive orchard with a peaceful creek on the side. The kitchen is a JOY to cook in, was even stocked with a few items that were handy to have. Originally, there were supposed to be just 4 of us, but having the 5th person did NOT make us crowded! If someone is looking for a home that's modern, traditional floor plan, then this is not going to be your ideal. BUT, if you are wanting a home that oozes Tuscan charm, was once a mill, but works very well as a home with 3 baths AND a washer, then this home away from home is perfection! I actually tried to go back this past spring, but it was already booked for the week I was in Italy.
Response from the owner Grazie, Thank you, I hope all you "girls" are doing well and I wish you all the best.... Nadia
This country house is located with surrounding olive trees in the heart of Tuscany close to many wine vineyards. Nadia, Roberto and Arianna treated us as family coming by regularly to make sure our visit was a pleasant one. if you are looking for a true Italian experience then Mulinmaria is the right place to fulfill your Italian dreams. They truly went out of their way to be helpful with places to shop, Italian restaurants, and cathedrals you don't want to miss. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to make a return visit.
Response from the owner Many thanks for your kindness, all our best to you! Nadia
“Perfect Week in Tuscany”
My husband and I and another couple (neighbors) stayed for one glorious week in September 2012. The house was as charming as could be and many places in Tuscany were an easy day trip. Florence is less than an hour away by train. The best part of each day was returning home to this lovely, quiet, tranquil, beautiful house in the middle of olive and fig trees. We enjoyed wine on the patio and then cooking and eating dinner in the charming, well-equipped kitchen. What made this property even more special was Nadia, our host. She could not have been any more accommodating, welcoming, and a pure delight to be around. She went out of her way to make our trip special - everything from leaving wine, water, and her own olive oil, to taking us shopping for the best Florentine steak, to letting us park at her home when we took the train into Florence, to helping us deal with the rental car agency when we had a little "incident" with our rental car. She and her husband even joined us for dinner one night and it was wonderful. We are a mature but active couple who would recommend this unique house to anyone. In fact, we are planning to return next September.
Response from the owner Thanks for your review, I'm so glad that you are coming back here next year for your family reunion. Can't wait to meet you again!
“Very simple advice ... "Choose this house!"”
We selected this house for our trip to Tuscany, wanting a place that would serve as a base location for day trips to various hill towns, while also providing us the opportunity to cook and relax in a real Italian home. It was the best choice we could imagine. Surrounded by hills and hundreds of olive trees, yet accessible to major roadways, the house is just 10 minutes from the lovely (under-rated) Arezzo and a one-hour train ride to Florence. Rather than living out of a suitcase via a hotel vacation in Italy, this is the way to go -- renting a fabulous home and becoming "a local," if only for a week or two. Four of us (two married couples) stayed here, using only two of the four bedrooms, and definitely using the wonderful, spacious kitchen and the large, relaxing terrace. Covered parking for the rental car, a washing machine, 3 bathrooms, gardens, lots of local travel/visitor information, extra electrical adaptors, WiFi, walking paths ... the list goes on and on. A special note about the nearby Podere di Pomaio winery (15 minutes away ... go there for a tasting and tour) - absolutely fantastic! Also, the owners of Mulinmaria are incredibly friendly and helpful, so you can set aside any trepidation about renting a house a world away and know - with confidence - that this is a house that will make your dream trip to Tuscany come true. There's just something special that you feel when you drive down the road and cross the bridge to Mulinmaria. If you select this house, you will feel it. We felt it, and we look forward to feeling it again, the next time we stay there.
Response from the owner Thank you so much, it was such a pleasure to spend some time with you, your wife and your friends. My best, Nadia
“The experience of a life time!”
My husband and I took our children and their spouses to Italy and stayed at the Mulinmaria. After a very long travel from Hi to CA to NY and finally Italy, we were exhausted to say the least. Our Host Nadia was waiting for our arrival with dinner prepared, table set and we couldn't have been greeted with a more friendlier smile and hospitality. The Villa is inviting and warm with memories and stories of the past. We enjoyed all of having our own room. The Back Patio has breathtaking views of sunsets and was our hang out place when we were not out exploring the lovely small towns around Tuscany.
Response from the owner Thank you, thank you and thank you! Nadia
