Description from owner

Description

Noddfa is a traditional 1843 built Welsh country cottage in the heart of Snowdonia close to Betsw-y-Coed in the beautiful Machno Valley. Noddfa means sanctuary or haven and this is exactly what our lovely cottage offers. It is a well equipped and very comfortably furnished property. It has a large, cosy sitting room with traditional wood burner; large Welsh slate floored dining kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and delightful open fire; downstairs toilet; small south facing private sun trap garden; double master bedroom with exposed beams and oak stripped floorboards; small second bedroom with three foot adult sized bunks; modern bathroom with walk in shower cubicle. Noddfa is very well equipped with traditional Portmeirion crockery and high quality fixtures and fittings. It is fully centrally heated. The cottage also has good speed wi-fi and Freesat TV. It is in the peaceful Welsh village of Penmachno, very close to the friendly local pub (closed Monday and Tuesday) serving food at weekends and a well stocked village shop. There is a parking space outside the garden which is usually free but there is plenty of parking in the village if not. It is ideally placed for walking, cycling or simply relaxing. Please note there is very limited public transport (which also changes with the seasons) to and from the village so a car is needed.there is no mobile coverage in the village but Wi-Fi calling works well.

“Family vacation”

Reviewed 25 Feb 2019

We had an amazing stay with two of our children (7 and 10). The cottage is such a credit to the family, home like and cosy environment, will definately visit again when in that part of Wales in the future and recommend to anyone who appreciates comfortable and full of character environment whether it is for a romantic get away or family vacation. Ann was extremely helpful and attentive all the way through the stay even though there's nothing lacking at the property and there's a detailed list of instructions on how things work ans where to get anything you might need.
