Newer condo with unobstructed sweeping views of the mountains, valley, and Saddleback Lake make the perfect get-away for friends and family. Watch the occasional moose and other wildlife pass or observe breathtaking sunsets from the deck and wall of windows. Slope side location (Grey Fox Lane - Rock Pond II) provides skiing right from the back door onto the best-valued, family friendly mountain in Maine. Enjoy your company relaxing on the leather couch in front of the warmth of the fireplace with stone hearth in a cozy living room with cathedral ceiling and exposed wooden beams. Very comfortable high end beds include two kings and two sets of bunk beds in four radiant heated rooms. Full kitchen with granite counter tops and a dining table for eight. Free cable TV (seasonal), wireless internet, local phone calls, towels and linens, and washer/dryer are included. 4th room is a separate room (study) with one set of bunk beds.
Mountain and Surroundings: Ski and boarding trails from beginner to expert, along with two terrain parks and the largest gladed trail in the northeast make Saddleback the next up and coming mountain. Nordic Center has over 50 miles of trails for cross-country and snowshoeing. Spring, summer, and fall use allow for hiking, boating, fishing, golfing, mountain bicycling, swimming, and lake sports in the area. A picturesque location for a simple get-away, weddings, family retreats, or conferences.
Equipment: Equipment for areas activities are not provided with condo, however, are available for rent in the region (boats, skis, ski tickets, golf clubs, etc).
Summer Spring Fall Delight: Peaceful Summers have tons of activities in the area. Hike to the top of Saddleback for some of the best above tree line landscape of the Appalachian trail with 360 views. Simple walks to Rock Pond or Saddleback lake afford great fishing opportunities. Dirt trails near the lake and on the mountain are a mountain bicycler's dream. As part of the rental, you have free use of canoes or kayaks on Saddleback Lake (seasonal). Or just sit back on the deck and watch the sunset drop while moose occasionally saunter by. In fall, the collage of colors heighten the senses even more. Based on the weekend, the lodge cafe is open for lunch and on occasion there are festivals or bands playing out front.
Winter - NOTE: The mountain is under ownership transition. Check their web site for when downhill lifts will be running this winter. The lifts have not run since 2015.
