Set in the beautiful Tanat valley, between the lovely villages of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant and Penybontfawr, this traditional converted stone barn is available for weekly 4 star self-catering holidays. Attached to the owner's property, the cottage which is close to the amazing Rhaeadr waterfall, Lake Vyrnwy, Bala and Snowdonia, and within easy reach of the historic towns of Chester and Shrewsbury has a private lawned-garden to the rear perfect for your children or dog to play in, with a covered veranda with an optional private Hot-tub (extra charge of £80 for your week stay, or £55 for a 3 night off-peak stay, payable on arrival) BBQ, alfresco dining area and comfortable furniture for relaxing outdoors and enjoying the stunning views over the valley and Cambrian mountains. The double bedroom and shower room are on the ground floor and the open plan living space is overlooked by the mezzanine room with twin beds.

Both villages have shops and good local pubs serving food, and the nearby market border town of Oswestry has other amenities. The location is perfect for a rural break for families and couples and ideal for walking, cycling, fishing, bird-watching or just relaxing and enjoying the views. An ideal picturesque base for visits to a wide variety of places of interest and beauty spots in the surrounding area.

“Lovely Private Secluded Break”

We arrived late on the Friday and got lost. We rang for directions and Robert stood in the road with a torch to guide us in. Handover was great and contactless. The cottage was spotless and we had a really good break. We plan to be back soon. By the way the hot tub was fantastic, clean and really inviting. Such a relaxing weekend thank you

How do damage deposits work?

If Janet (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
